Person you have seen on a podium? To me it has to be the Russian who came runner up to the Irish female boxer, She stood there with her arms folded facing the other way.

Yeah she seemed a bit annoyed, thought she won it but Taylor won deservedly. Serves the Russian one right for the comments she made.

I agree. That kind of response is petulant and disrespectful. The Russian needs to learn to take defeat gracefully.

Congratulations to the Irish boxer though. I am not a fan of boxing, but I understand the amount of dedicated hard work she must have put in to win her event and of course, I'm pleased for all our Irish friends who will be celebrating this success.

The Russian is a loser in more ways than one.

To me she just simply looked devestated, people are often quick to make assumptions about other people from a fleeting glance. That may just have been the hardest moment in her life in which she had given it her all. She may be a very lovely person aside from those few minutes we saw of her.

That Russian boxer claimed in the build up that the reason Ireland was broke was because they spent all their money bribing judges for Katy Taylor fights and that every opponent of taylor started on minus ten points. These are scandoulous comments that you might expect in pro boxing but not in an event like the Olympics which is about respect and fair play. Im glad she lost and looked like a sore loser.

I was delighted Kaite beat her, a negative boxer and well if you win 5 European Championships, 4 Worlds bribing officals, well you have deep pockets. Katie showed her who was the better fighter anyway. Ochigava wanted to keep the score low to satay in it and Kaite stuck to the plan which deserves some praise could have easily got frustrated.
