Team GB Sevens Squad - Rio 2016
As we all know, rugby 7s will be an Olympic sport next time round.
Whom do we think might comprise the squad on current form?
Let's assume that IRB 7s rules apply, so there are 12 squad players and 2 management permitted.
At present, I would have to go for something like:
Coaches: Ben Ryan (England), Gareth Williams (Wales)
1. Mat Turner (England)
2. Colin Gregor (Scotland)
3. Dan Norton (England)
4. Tom Mitchell (England)
5. Alex Walker (Wales)
6. James Fleming (Scotland)
7. Richard Smith (Wales)
Bench:
8. Richie Pugh (Wales)
9. Rob Vickerman (England)
10. Andrew Turnbull (Scotland)
11. Christian Lewis-Pratt (England)
12. Owen Williams (Wales)
Pretty sure that I've got the forwards/backs balance wrong, so please forgive me for that as I don't profess to be a 7s expert - I only know the players that I've enjoyed watching.
I understand that there is currently not an agreed position as to how Irish players will be represented. Can anyone help in providing an update with this as there is a lot of young Irish talent who may make it into any squad?
The starting 7 is a stunning array of attacking talent. Thoughts?

Re: Team GB Sevens Squad - Rio 2016
I think it may be a bit early to really try and guess at the team, as there area a fair few new names that will be in the mix in four years time. Also it depends on what the ruling will be regarding the age, and if they are on allowed to be professional or not, or if there are limits on whether they were allowed to be involved in other tournaments prior to the Olymics etc.
I must be honest the olymics confuses me because the boxers have to be amature still, yet pro tennis, football, cyclists etc (so will golf and 7s be pro or amature??).

I think that the only Olympic sports now where it's amateurs only are boxing and greco-roman girlypants fighting.
