Are you a Poster or a Viewer ?
Most Threads seem to have more people viewing them then actually posting comments .
So are you a poster or a viewer ?
If you tend to view threads more , Is there something that stops you joining in the topic ?

Does the count include people who aren't registered? i thought it did. Be good to get some of them involved.

Re: Are you a Poster or a Viewer ?
I tend to post a fair bit like you Kenny but also sometimes I just have a read and move on. If there's a war-of-words underway I'll try to avoid that and step in to try and quell things... otherwise I won't post if I don't know enough on the subject.
So I'm probably 75% post, 25% view. What about you?

Outside of American Football I'm pretty much just a viewer, there's always going to be more views than posts because you have to view the page twice to post on it once.

Bit of both really sometimes there's stuff I don't know enough to offer opinion or not show a huge interest in.

Re: Are you a Poster or a Viewer ?
Ratio of views to posts varies quite widely between different posts.... sometime it's 10:1
But it can be much bigger differential - for instance 13 posts to 670+ views on the off topic thread of what's the most interesting thing about you. But that could be due to 606v2 members being inherently modest (or perhaps accurate ) about how fascinating they are to other people...

Re: Are you a Poster or a Viewer ?
Does the viewing number not get automatically blown on a thread because you revisit a thread?
Example, you post a comment, and go back 7 times to read posts until you have something to say again.
So you may have contributed 2 or 3 posts on a thread, but went back 20 times to read comments?

Re: Are you a Poster or a Viewer ?
Without having done any great research I would suggest that a ratio of about 10 views for every post is probably about a "par" score for participation.

Re: Are you a Poster or a Viewer ?
As the number of posts would suggest i post alot , but do tend to stick to certain threads unless of course i have an opinion on something then i will add to another thread.
I do however look around aswell so contribute to the views also

Re: Are you a Poster or a Viewer ?
Another great thing about this site is the General Discussion/Off Topic section. You can't help but love the fact that one minute you are agreeing with a Man Utd fan in the football section, the next minute you are bickering with another poster over why you think 9/11 was an inside job, the minute after that you are ranking an 80's classic film and a minute after the minute after (!) you are co-writing a world class limerick. I highly doubt that life can get better!

"De-lurk" is a good name for a cabaret show, no?

I think I swing both ways I do read a lot of things but don't comment - either because i don't want to get involved or I just think it's not my place to comment. I do also comment on a few things too.

A view to a post. Or 2 posts per view.
Depending how you look at it.

Re: Are you a Poster or a Viewer ?
Too many viewers and not enough posting is my observation. Threads need posts to get things moving.
1:10 is about right for a board moving at a decent pace. From what I've seen a lot of threads here are more like 1:30. What are people afraid of?

I do my bit redressing the imbalance by posting when I don't really have a clue what I'm on about.
