Nadal Dropping Out Of Top 4
I have tried to work out if it is possible for Nadal to drop out of top 4 if he were to miss the rest of the season, but can't work it out if it is possible for Ferrer, Berdych or Tsonga to overtake him if they have a good run till the end of the year.
Just thinking if Nadal dropped to world number 5, then Federer, Djokvic or Murray could get him in a GS Quarter Final, which would be brutal. Murray for example could have to beat Nadal, Djokovic and Federer back to back to back to win. Even more daunting is the prospect of someone outside the top 4 having to beat Murray, Nadal, Djokovic and Federer back to back to back to back!!
Could someone do the sums maybe?

Yes that what often happens on the women's tour when the williams sisters come into the tournament ranked way low and end up knocking out a 1 or 2 seed in the first couple of rounds. I honestly don't think when Nadal comes back that he will spend much time down out of the top 4 when he does come back so this type of situation would be pretty short lived.

Do you per chance know if this is possible for Nadal to drop out of top 4 before end of year?

Re: Nadal Dropping Out Of Top 4
It's unlikely. He is defending 1970 points until the end of the year. If he dropped them all he will go to 6925 points, which is too high for a realistic chance of those below him catching him, this year. Remember he has already won a grand slam and two masters this year on the clay, and got to the final at the Australian Open.
