AC ALSOAM are delighted to announce the signing of Coutinho, just days after his goal for Inter Milan in their 3-0 win in Serie A.

He's also an U21.

For the record, U21 players are players who were born before 27/08/1990 (any players born on that date turned 22 yesterday)

So for confirmation, the U21 rule in the cup is actually an u22 rule as a 21 year old is not under 21.

Seems daft, but appreciate the confirmation.

IRL the age cut off would have been 27/08/1991

The difference being that in real life, the U21 season spans 2 years. In this league, it spans 3 months. All players still end up being 21 or under.

IRL the rule is under 21 at the start of the competition. Not 21 or under.

It doesn't really matter and helps me as I have more underage players

Carroll, Ansaldi, Muniesa all available from Hangover. Although everyone has a price

I still maintain its a U21 rule though, as the U21 campaign lasts two years, think of this cup as the 2nd year of the U21 season.

Surely Under 21 means 21 or younger on the date given. Bojan turned 22 today (one day after the date set above) therefore he is under 21 for this tournament

Agreed with Gregers. Although I would fit under any restrictions, you have given us a date to oblige by, and we have. I don't see the problem anyways, this is how it happens in real life

Gregers - the age setting in real life is easy. The player has to be under 21 on the first day of the competition (not 21 or under)

Mouse - the rules have always said u21, so I'm not sure anything would be changing. Marky only stated a DOB or two ago

If anything the rules have been changed to allow 21 or under Laugh

I was just saying that Marky needs to update the rule page

You signed a keeper before Mark had defined the date, which he did about an hour ago. Before that, it said under 21 so if anything, you signed a keeper outside the rules and Marky has since changed it so that your keeper fits the criteria

Mouse - the rules clearly state, and always have done, u21.

It is now u22.

I'm leaving it though in case Marky dequaficates me

Sod - when it was agreed on on the mainpage, it was agreed to be U21 on the first day of the season and all that needed defining was the first day of the season.

And Mouse, you go back to when it was agreed on these pages to make the cup u21, it was agreed u21 on the first day of the season.

You were wrongly advised at the them (although correctly with the new u22 cup - perhaps it was a fortune teller who advised you)
