Re: The Euro Division Homepage XXVII
AC ALSOAM are delighted to announce the signing of Coutinho, just days after his goal for Inter Milan in their 3-0 win in Serie A.
He's also an U21.
For the record, U21 players are players who were born before 27/08/1990 (any players born on that date turned 22 yesterday)

Re: The Euro Division Homepage XXVII
So for confirmation, the U21 rule in the cup is actually an u22 rule as a 21 year old is not under 21.
Seems daft, but appreciate the confirmation.
IRL the age cut off would have been 27/08/1991

Marky - can you update the cup rules so that it says u22, rather than u21

The difference being that in real life, the U21 season spans 2 years. In this league, it spans 3 months. All players still end up being 21 or under.

IRL the rule is under 21 at the start of the competition. Not 21 or under.
It doesn't really matter and helps me as I have more underage players

But you can't call it u21 because it isn't. It's u22

Bojan signs for Hangover, there is my backup striker done for now. Now he better move to Milan and play great!
Carroll, Ansaldi, Muniesa all available from Hangover. Although everyone has a price

I still maintain its a U21 rule though, as the U21 campaign lasts two years, think of this cup as the 2nd year of the U21 season.

Right, do I follow Afro's example and make it players 20 or under on the date, or go with my own unthought out U22 system?

I think it makes it a little too easy, but I am not complaining as the cup has never been run properly, so why start now

Re: The Euro Division Homepage XXVII
Surely Under 21 means 21 or younger on the date given. Bojan turned 22 today (one day after the date set above) therefore he is under 21 for this tournament
Re: The Euro Division Homepage XXVII
You can't change it now people have signed players to cope with the restrictions.

Re: The Euro Division Homepage XXVII
Agreed with Gregers. Although I would fit under any restrictions, you have given us a date to oblige by, and we have. I don't see the problem anyways, this is how it happens in real life

Trebs is right. This season it will run as 21 or under on yesterday's date, but next season will be 20 or under at the start of the season.

Re: The Euro Division Homepage XXVII
Gregers - the age setting in real life is easy. The player has to be under 21 on the first day of the competition (not 21 or under)
Mouse - the rules have always said u21, so I'm not sure anything would be changing. Marky only stated a DOB or two ago

Well, Gregers for example has literally just signed Bojan. I signed a keeper today to comply with the rules.

BTW - I am not pushing to change it. But you can't complain that the rules have changed when the DOB has only just been set.
If anything the rules have been changed to allow 21 or under
I was just saying that Marky needs to update the rule page

You signed a keeper before Mark had defined the date, which he did about an hour ago. Before that, it said under 21 so if anything, you signed a keeper outside the rules and Marky has since changed it so that your keeper fits the criteria

It's not changing. Marky just needs to change the rule to be u22 (or 21 and under).

No Afro, it's worse.
You can change to rule for next season. Changing it now will result in boycotts probably.

Actually, it was always stated that it would be people aged 21 or below at the start of the season, just not the specific date.

I'm clearly in the minority here, but I always assumed that it was U21 from the start of week 1 of S3

Mouse - the rules clearly state, and always have done, u21.
It is now u22.
I'm leaving it though in case Marky dequaficates me
Sod - when it was agreed on on the mainpage, it was agreed to be U21 on the first day of the season and all that needed defining was the first day of the season.

Afro, go back, and you'll see that when I've asked, that I've been clearly told it's players who are 21 or under at the start of this season.

For what it's worth my understanding was 21 or under on the date of the start of the season.

Thats what I thought, when Marky posted the date I swooped for Bojan who got in by 1 day
Re: The Euro Division Homepage XXVII
And Mouse, you go back to when it was agreed on these pages to make the cup u21, it was agreed u21 on the first day of the season.
You were wrongly advised at the them (although correctly with the new u22 cup - perhaps it was a fortune teller who advised you)

Right so let me clear this up for myself.
At the start of the season which was yesterday (27/08), players 21 and under qualified for the cup. That's what I always thought it was
