Sergio is in Chavez Jr's head. Chavez knows he's bitten off more that he can chew.
Can't wait for Martinez to destroy him!

i watched this earlier today. it was decent but exactly the same as every other 24/7 - the formula remains unchanged.
ward v dawson 24/7 was decent too. both seem nice family men.

So friggin glad Martinez has finally got a 24/7 show.
I have always found him really interesting to listen too, speaks so much sense in a sport that seriously lacks it sometimes.
Plus he ain't half bad to look at haha

I'd forgotten what 24/7's are like without Manny and Mayweather. Pretty good!

Loved that episode, everyone says Martinez is hating on Chavez Jr, in my opinion he is speaking the truth and being the voice of boxing fans...
Seeing Mayweather on 24/7 all the time makes it boring, nice to see TWO new fresh faces.

Anybody of the opinion that maybe...just maybe....Chavez has timed this one just right?
Martinez hasnt looked the same fighter for the past couple of fights.
All things being even, he should win, he's the better fighter. BUT, he's 37...Im just putting it out there, maybe Chavez is worth a punt.

Ill be watching on the weather channel online (probably HBO). Mixed on this fight. I think Sergio should smash him up, but Chavez looks like he can be hit with a sledgehammer and still come forward. I fancy Sergio by wide UD but wouldnt be shocked by a scam card upset or late TKO by Chavez Jr.

Chavez by wide points decision even if he's knocked out.

A few people thinking along these lines. That's what makes the fight really intriguing. But, when you really look at it objectively Sergio should be just too talented.

Martinez indicated that he didn't train as hard for the Barker or Macklin fights.
As good as those two boxers are, Martinez in an elite fighter whereas they are second tier boxers.
The performances vs Pavlik and Williams 2 shows what happens when Martinez is in the zone!
Martinez is pumped for this fight and will rip Chavez's head off!

Chavez has never been hit with a sledge hammer, so we will see how good his chin is.

Well he would say that wouldn't he.
Martinez is 37. Anything can happen. I dont think he's a B-Hp style fighter who can adapt.

My thoughts exactly. he relies on his legs, on movement, on being elusive. As you get up in years that gets harder and harder and there has definitely been a decline in his recent prformances.
He's up against a bigger, younger, tough kid. Boxing is about timing and this could prove to be a crossroads fight.
I'll be routing for Martinez as im a fan, but im not 100% sure about this one. He has the power to end the fight, but if it drags on, he could find himself in deep water.

Marco Antonio Rubio lasted 12 rounds againt Chavez Jr, don't be so silly to think he is some sort of wrecking ball, that Lee fight has blinded a lot of people, Martinez will dance rings around him.

As much I dislike junior I think he'll win. I think Martinez has progressively got worse in his last few fights. Against Barker and Macklin he won but not without looking average. I think this may be another case of Freddie Roach picking a marquee fighter at the wrong end of his career and timing it perfectly. ODLH, SSM, MAB for example. I may be wrong but I have a feeling.
I think he'll be juiced on the night and will be too young and strong for Martinez and will stop him late on. I hope I'm wrong though!!

Martinez went from fighting guys like Williams, Pavilk etc to lower tier boxers like Macklin and Barker. It would effect his movitation.
Especially as he had his WBC title stripped and the new champion kept avoiding him.

I thought that it was pretty good, same stuff really, but with different fighters, Martinez's back story is pretty interesting. It just shows even a late starter with the right amount of dedication and talent can make it into the big leagues.

Martinez is a man to admire, his toughness and work ethic are second to none and feel this will be the difference in the fight, although i'm warming to Chavez who is pretty tough for a rich boy.
Martinez to win by ko/stoppage in round 10-12 or Chavez to win on points, mildly controversially.
