Julio Cesar Chavez Jr vs Brian Vera II
The rematch that Vera deserved has been finalised for March 1st, at the Alamodome - San Antonio, TX.
Both fighters had agreed to fight at the super middleweight limit.
Chavez will be fined $250,000 if he fails to make the weight. It's not a big enough fine IMO, his purse will be $2-3m, so the fine should've been $1m. Chavez Jr reported claimed he could still make 160, uncle Bob wasn't very amused.
Anyway it's seems as though HBO and uncle Bob are trying to line up Chavez Jr as Andre Ward's opponent for the end of 2014.
The undercard will see Orlando Salido defend his WBO featherweight title against Vasyl Lomachenko.
Juan Diaz will also be on the card.

Salido v Lomachenko should be much more interesting than the others. What a horrible opponent to have your first world title shot against, especially when it's only his 2nd fight!

I fully expect Lomachenko to take him to pieces JBW, that isn't to discredit Salido as an opponent because he is top notch, but I rate Vasyl massively and think he is boxings next breakout star (much better than Broner will ever be).
Re: Julio Cesar Chavez Jr vs Brian Vera II
It's sad that Lomachenko vs Salido is playing second fiddle to the ongoing joke that is Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, really hope Vera wins big and its the last we see of Chavez. Although there is a part of me that wants to see him get dismantled by Ward in spectacular style.

Eddie Hearn has been saying he's deep in negotiations with Chavez Jr for a Froch fight. ??????
Lomachenko could get done by Solido, it's a very tough fight. While a good performance in his first pro fight I wasn't blown away by Loma.
It's a very competitive fight in my view.

JJC jr always brings in the numbers so great exposure for Lomachenko as few know who he is
Happy Vera got the rematch, but he just can't hurt Chavez and Chavez can hurt him so I expect chavez to be alot better and win legitimately. It'll be the volume of vera against the power of chavez so it's up to whqt you like
Jr will never make waves at 168 so it's a bit irrelevant this fight but I'd love Ward to beat the stuffing out of him

I wouldn't be surprised if you're right owen, but it's such an odd fight I wouldn't be surprised what happens. The unorthodox, rugged and bull like older man against a pro novice. It's easy to see who the superior boxer and athlete is, but Salido has a nasty habit of upsetting superior boxers.
If Salido wins, he doesn't just beat you, he beats you up!

The only interesting thing about the Vera vs Chavez fight, is how wide will the pre-filled scorecards be?

Apparently the cards seem to suggest that Chavez won by KO and in doing so also won the "Rumble in the Jungle"

No he didn't! God why do some people have to do that, dress up people's accomplishments with a total lie! He's done enough in his career...doesn't need you adding that little fable to it! Well done Dave; now no one will believe he did all those other brilliant things!
Re: Julio Cesar Chavez Jr vs Brian Vera II
Whilst Julio Cesar Chavez Jr is bloody lazy and enjoys living of his father's name.
Skills wise he's got all the tools to become a legend in his own right. His jab is very good and he's got obvious power.
If he ever gets his head in the game, he can easily win titles at SMW and LHW, to go with his MW crown.

I honestly don't think he's good enough, Anthony Dirrell, Froch, Groves, Golovkin if he moves up, Ward even Stieglitz all muller him.
