Drive's legendary 'Anything goes' topic V2.01
Right folks, to celebrate the new (and greatly improved) reincarnation of 606, here is the first new anything goes thread.
You can chat about anything in this thread but if it goes off topic, I'll delete your comment (yeah, work that one out!)
So, to kick off...........
I love all the new smileys, some very creative new ones although I am a bit concerned about the activities that some people get up to based on the requested smileys (you know who you are :P ) Might be a requirement to alert the vice squad in certain counties :face:

Too many smileys now and they're being abused by too many bum slappers and they know who they are massive improvement from the old site though, so well done Hobo and the rest
Anything goes, so how about this. The sound your forged irons make when rattling around in a carry bag, is completeley different from that made by cast irons, or did I imagine it

Should I keep working or go play a quick 9 holes? It is a toasty 7 degrees outside.

Drive,
Loving the new smileys and the new 606v2. Really appreciative of all the effort made by the people working hard to get this up and running. Did you get the email I sent you earlier on here btw. I think being able to email to a member of the group privately (whilst still being on-line) is a vast improvement on what we had previously. What has been good is that the WUMs have been replaced by several newbies which should hopefully add new dimension to the discussion and hopefully less petty squabbling :handbags: Where is Kwini though..... can people from other countries access this site okay :?:

Kwini seems strangely reluctant to move over. He's been prodded quite a few times, by quite a few different people over on the old place but all he keeps saying is that he's going to go on to the bitter end with teh old site, continuing to post his articles over there. He has said he will register here (possibly under different name) when the old place goes belly-up so he can continue with the fantasy leagues etc but for some reason he won't commit (yet) to keeping his articles going on here. It seems to be a fear that without the backing of the BBC, this place won't attract new members, especially from outside of the UK. Anyway, it's his choice. I hope he can be swayed, but we'll have to wait and see.

Yes thanks, went into my hotmail and saw your mail but for some strange reason, it won't open at work. I'll have a look this evening at home

Davie do we know what Kwini does for a living? I know he's supposed to be in the States and we guessed he likes to write, but do we know the facts? maybe he works for an affiliate of the BBC, because I can't understand his reluctance to migrate, because in fairness he will be posting to one man and his dog. Theres only been a couple of posts over there since Friday and they have an element of advertising this site.

NST, you can access and post from other countries. I was able to discuss the Farmers tournament with BTB and Mac last night.
Kwini cryptically refers to a being from the central to upper NY state area in his postings. It would be a shame if he doesn't come over but I'm not sure he has decided what he wants to do yet.

Not sure Diggers is keen on jumping ship either, having seen what he's posted on the other side.
This is what Kwini said: "I'm going to continue on this site for the duration, but will definitely be casting the occasional eye over on 606v2, and will certainly participate in the Fantasy Game. Long term? No idea. Trying to figure that out, hope to continue writing 'articles', but not sure on what or where."

It was the ding dong battles between Diggers and our good friend Mercurio :handbags: which were legendary from last year, almost became epic battles which made 'The Rumble in the Jungle' look like tea and a tiff which made me laugh :606laugh:
