This All Black has`nt beaten the Boks yet either they may well do so this year. But this is a shadow Bok side, like you I`d love to see a 6-0 allBlacks winning streak.BUT i`m not complacent enough to take it for granted whatever way they play.Incidentally when Bok sides did try playing running rugby against teams they lost and reverted to type.Boks have plenty of good or great backs they just don`t pick them at Bok level. This side still has`nt lost yet despite being a shadow side so don`t count your chickens etc.

Re: All Blacks for Argentina.
Although SA need this badly its not as bad as oz who are on 3 losses already for the year. All reports suggest a do or die ring to tonights match....big demands on cooper taking it to the line. Three out of the next four- the away SA match being the loss is what's seen as the minimum acceptable.
With Arg playing the ABs the experience gained could hurt oz in argie if argie manage to stay injury free and havnt burnt out.
Looks like argie could take some advantage of the injuries this year and will be targeting oz at home as their match to perhaps secure third.
With the weather here today the odds for them have improved as well, the wind likely to provide the leveller they need.

So why select goosen. If anything he is the antithesis of bok rugby. He is a runner, a link man, a risk taker, and has pace...when considering steyn all the attributes meyer seems to despise in a 10. And remember this bok side has got worse with each opponent, ending both duels with draws. This suggests the oppositions are working them out quickly don't you think?

Re: All Blacks for Argentina.
Think it maybe a case of oh no another injury,Boks must have upset a witchdoctor or something. There injury toll is horrendous on the bright side they can only get better. It is more satisfying beating full strength sides than shadow ones. Also maybe you should give credit to the sides concerned TED has been working with the Pumas.Maybe they have an ace up there sleeves tomorrow.Myself would like a Bonus point AllBlack Win and a 8 point Wallabie win, that would probably mean an AB` 4N with 3 to play.

Re: All Blacks for Argentina.
Yeah I think thats exactly what will happen. A bonus point win to the AB's. Theres only so much Ted can do in such a short timeframe. Hes just imparting knowledge, not the same as setting the scene from the grassroots level, setting up networks etc.
Nonu has said theyre going to test the Argie staying power. Now this tournament is new to them. Theyre currently the most travelled team and have got toughest matches to come if rankings are the baseline.
Whether they can stay the distance is yet to be seen as they wont have had to back up performances over 6 straight before in their history.
Its good theyve been ok with injuries so far.
Not sure if it can get better for the Boks as the matches are much tougher here in. If they continue to have injuries things will get much worse. Oz really look ready for this and that inside channel around morne steyne and the big back row is an obvious target. If Steyne has a good match then they'll win. For me thats the entire equation; steyns performance.
If not it could be a long way to the next match.

Re: All Blacks for Argentina.
I can confirm it's a Poopie day. Wind 100km+ and damp. The interesting thing for me will be how several of the key aspects of Hansens 2012 Ab's hold up in the conditions against a stout tight 5. That is extreme pace (I think we've made a huge step here this year) and the ability to offload throughout the team (I'll call it the SBW legacy).
Two big tests of the game plan in the next few weeks. If I were neutral I would be watching with interest. The Argentinians were moderately successful last year (the French stated they took on board their lessons from the quarter final) and they have the input from Ted.... It could expose some weaknesses and tactics for opposition teams.
Keys stats for me last week were 21 offloads by the AB's, 13 dropped balls and seven tries butchered. Both sides said it was high paced and a number of players said they were struggling with the pace at times. I don't think this team has clicked yet.But they are not not far away.

Problem was for me Nonu and SBW both played well but the combinations were`nt there.Hosae Gear is the shadow of the player that ousted the Rock 2 years ago.Conrad Smith if his eye sight is sorted in combo with Nonu and Cruden andJane the old Hurricanes set up should be different.

Yeah it actually starts at 7 for the canes and related. Vito, A Smith and cruden from manawatu, nonu, smith, savea and jane so right across the backline. And barrett to slot in as well so heavy home support for these guys.

Regardless argie have started very well. We're lucky their lineouts terrible. Half hour in, we've a real match on.

Re: All Blacks for Argentina.
ABs trying to play at tempo but a lot of handling errors. They want to tire the Argies out by playing at pace but it defeats the purpose if you drop the pill and create scrums all the time. Kicking is a lottery it's swirling. NZ's done ok in the lineouts so far.

Yeah they've come in with a gameplan to scatter the ball but they're going to have to change it and tough it up more.

Wind with the Argies now in the second half could open things up a bit. If I was the blacks I'd put an extra man back to run the kicks back

Re: All Blacks for Argentina.
That would have to be up there with the worst first halves I've ever seen the ABs play although credit must go to the Argies' strength, defence and taking their opportunities. We may see some ABs go into their shell, then it's all on!

Re: All Blacks for Argentina.
Whew. Half time. Gameplans gotta change. They just need to limit the passes to one or two. You can still keep the momentum going but the weathers no excuse here. Its just dumb bad weather rugby. And argie are applying enough pressure to make it count.
Gotta say well done argie, they look hungrier than we do.
Nonus having a poor one. A lot more accuracy, a bit more patience, and straight running second half please.

Re: All Blacks for Argentina.
Argentina are playing excellently.
Their rush defence is good and their forwards are dominant, at the breakdown, in the scrum and at mauls.
Hernandez will have the wind in the second half. NZ will need to up there game, which im sure they will do, but Argentina need a lot of credit for that first half.
Lobbe
Hernandez
Albecete
Roncero
All deserve to be considered with the best in the world.

Not doing so bad yourself with Mr Nonu giveing ball away. Thats the sickening fact about ab fans though, ab's not playing well instead of accepting the other side is better than you.

Extra long halftime will benefit the Argentinians as they are the ones likely to tire.

How good is the Argies' 1 on 1 d. I always ran at the weak shoulder and tried to wrongfoot people to produce one. The ABs are starting to offload and wrongfoot people but they are still getting smashed when normally they'd bust. Superb Argentina.

I find it funny they were talking about the non rugby educated argies booing and whistling at the kickers...
then Rodriguez steps up to the loadest noise of the day, when will the kiwi crowds learn not to boo and whistle?
