Pietersen not awarded ECB contract
KP is not one of the ten who have been awarded central contracts.
I am sure he will though before the squad is announced for India.
He WILL be the eleventh
England central contracts James Anderson (Lancashire), Ian Bell (Warwickshire), Tim Bresnan (Yorkshire), Stuart Broad (Nottinghamshire), Alastair Cook (Essex), Steven Finn (Middlesex), Eoin Morgan (Middlesex), Matt Prior (Sussex), Graeme Swann (Nottinghamshire), Jonathan Trott (Warwickshire)

Not entirely unexpected though. They could not award him just yet.

Could have held it back, I would wait and watch, not very sure the ECB intentions are entirely honest.

Lets see. So what would be his county situation now?

An extract from the cricinfo report on the issue.
"In releasing a statement containing the names of the ten centrally contracted players, the ECB said: "In respect to Kevin Pietersen discussions are ongoing and they remain private." It is understood that Andy Flower, the England coach, and Pietersen met last weekend, but that there is some way to go before a resolution to the issue is found."
The report also indicates that perhaps Pietersen was a bit ambivalent about signing a central contract, as without one he could opt to play in the IPL or the BBL, but I don't think he would be thinking on those lines like Gayle did in the West Indies.

Think that would depend on the approach from the other side as well.skyeman wrote:Hopefully he will chase the glory and not the money. For now

Re: Pietersen not awarded ECB contract
For now he's left with lots of uncertainties, no contract, not wanted in the team, possibly left high and dry without even a county.
Perhaps he would have got enough assurances from the powers that be, so that he wouldn't do anything drastic and would stay on course for an England return in the near future. Thankfully all those stuff are happening behind doors that are closed. And good on the ECB to keep a lid on the leaks at last!.

Because neither party have commented, the signs look pretty good to me. If KP was'nt hopeful, he would have said something by now.

You vile sycophant.........he's not going to say anything ever again If he values his English career... until he retires!!!
When are you pathetic brown nosers going to get it into your head that he's the culprit not the victim!!
You make me sick...

Trussman, take the personal attacks somewhere else. It's perfectly possible to make a valid point without spewing bile.

My Champagne moment.
Obviously the poster does seem a bit ignorant on the subject/my postings, otherwise he would have known that i am quite the opposite of being a sycophantic in the slightest towards KP.

Did i not just say that. You just did not understand that it was said in my usual way.
And finally - intolerance is a form of impotence you jaffa/wum.
