Dragons v Blues Build-up Thread
First topic message reminder :
Just thought I'd get the ball rolling ahead of Saturday's derby match. The Blues have a good record at Dave Parade and will be looking to get back to winning ways after losing at home against Edinburgh; the Dragons lost away to Leinster on the weekend but will have taken heart from scoring three tries at the RDS and will be looking to put in another winning performance at home.
What do we think? Who's going to come out on top?

Missed touch from the penalty too, but to be fair he did kick in miles.

Brilliant linking by the Dragons almost puts Prydie in, but the Blues cover and get a scrum.

Nice ploy from the Dragons, one man take the ball carrier everyone else blindside the supporting players!!

Yeah, I was a bit behind. Sexton got a last minute DG after the conversion. Treviso are coming along nicely. Not such an easy fixture for visitors that one.

From a welsh point of view, Faletau, Lydiate and Warburton all look in very good nick.

Blues demolish the Dragons scrum to win a penalty.

Was looking forward to how the scrum went today, but looking at personnell (no offence dragons) its been depresingly even.
Hope Borrust and Mafi can make a difference against better scrums.

Both back rows have looked good today, Navidi, and Pretorious matching the lyds and Falatau, but Lewis evans has looked good and is getting stronger as the game goes on

Its good from Patchell, good kick under pressure.
5 - 13
We could actually get a win at Rodney Parade. Makes that last minute DG last week all the more annoying, we could be 3 from 3.

True... Very impressed with Nalvidi and Lewis Evans... But I think Lydiate, Warbs and Toby have been outstanding
32 turn overs is the figure announced on S4C.

Re: Dragons v Blues Build-up Thread
Patchell gets MOTM, well deserved - an excellent debut.
First Blues academy flyhalf for years, its would take a madman (im looking at you Baber) to say he isn't first choice at 10 now.
Hopefully it will inspire the best in Tovey and we will see Patchell line up at 12 with Tovey at 10 while Roberts is away. (who am I kidding, Patchell would probably be better than Jamie "I only really perform for Wales" Roberts.

Re: Dragons v Blues Build-up Thread
Fantastic result for a fairly young Blues team. Played better than I expected with Patchell showing glimpses of what he can do with front foot ball and played an incredible kicking game at times.
Warburton and Patchell the standouts for the Blues.

Really impressed with Patchell. He's got the lot and only 19 too.
Deserves a run of games after his performance this evening.
I do believe we have unearthed a gem here and about time.

You're right, both back rows performed admirably as was expected I suppose, but for me Patchell was the shining light in a mostly dire game.

Re: Dragons v Blues Build-up Thread
you must all have been watching a different game to me! I have never seen such a poor game in terms of basic skills in the contact - I mean how many turnovers?? "You have it", no "you have it", no I insist - "YOU have it". Then there were the lineouts - AWFUL for both teams - I mean what do they do in training all week?? The skill levels were a joke and both teams will get ripped apart by Irish, Scottish, English and French teams (and the Scarlets) on that performance. Terrible terrible game

Re: Dragons v Blues Build-up Thread
Worst game I've ever seen.
THE LEAST WORSE TEAM WON!
Neither team did anything. Both tried to spoil. Gutted we lost but really gutted that I dragged a few half fans down to watch such a bad game. Never seen so many errors.
Btw.. I did say dragons would struggle vs 2 opensides! Steffan is a class act but we lacked clean ball n we panicked all first half. Jonny Evans looked good.
FFS I'm
Gutted
