Hi all,
Just wanted to let you all know about a few things that the v2 journal team have been working on recently.
AS part of the growth of some of the sports on here, we have started to record a weekly podcast.
We now have two podcasts up and running weekly - we would love it if you could all help out by giving us some feedback on how we are doing and also how you think we could improve.
We would also take suggestions from you all about other sports we could cover.
If you have any suggestions at all, please let us know.
Anyway, the links to the two can be found here:

Re: Podcasts
I think a cricket podcast could work though now is probably the wrong time of year to start one.
I think it would be good fun, although we might struggle to get the number of people on board and guests that you are getting for the rugby!

Derby and I talked about doing an AF one before, the conclusion was that neither of us had the time do one every week. If any members of the American Football forum fancy doing one then you can work away and I will try and help out occasionally as I may be doing for the rugby one.

Re: Podcasts
I'd be up for being involved in a cricket one as well, but as Shelsey says, that may be best left for the spring.

This has reminded me that someone sent me a PM asking if I would be interested in helping out, but unfortunately I really don't have the time to do one whilst working, studying for a professional qualification and trying to keep up with 3 hour NFL games!

Re: Podcasts
If anyone hasn't had a listen to the latest rugby one yet, it's informative and well worth a listen. I managed to listen to it in one earbud whilst eating dinner with my wife in front of the TV. Yes dear, no dear...hehe

Yeah that's my issue don't really know my schedule just yet but doubt I'll be able to guarantee a 2 hour slot where I could do it every week... Maybe next year...

I think a football one would be good, and i'd nominate Crimey as a perfect host.
He's very clued up on the goings on in sport. His views aren't solely biased to his team and he can be objective.

Good point, i would imagine a generic Football one would cover the Prem, England, Transfers etc. If you could get enough interest a Football League one would be good.
As for Scotland, they do enough bickering and whinging on the board. Not sure i'd wanna listen to 3 angry scotsman argue over who wants Levein out most.

Re: Podcasts
Adam - a question I've been meaning to ask: a while back the admins asked us all for suggestions for a new name for the site/forum, so it could be established in its own right and move away from the shadow of the old 606. Whatever happened with that?

I actually said I'd want to do a football one, but don't have a microphone. I'll go see if I can find one for cheap in the next couple of days.

Yeah, if I do start a football podcast, I'll be asking for quite a bit of help.
With the wrestling one, do you just phone Adam and he leaves you on speaker phone, or is it something different?

With the rugby one I set up a Skype conference call, and have some (bought) software that records the call

Re: Podcasts
We normally just do audio, but we could do video. Thus far all the guys on the rugby podcast are people I've met, so no real need to share our ugly mugs

We do a three way call on Skype then Adam records it on a dictaphone thing, although when me and Gav did it this week I recorded it on some software I have on my laptop. Its pretty simple, plus I've done a little radio so I can edit bits n bobs out.

Re: Podcasts
Just signed up here to say thanks for the rugby podcasts.
I started enjoying Ruggamatrix podcasts during the Lions tour of South Africa. That site has gone silent of late but Green and Gold are doing an entertaining job in the south.
Looking forward to hearing more from you guys, and pleased you have a good range of opinions to cover the bases.

An all round football one, or would that end up being far too Premier League centric?

I think you could cover all aspects, do a round up of all leagues and debate the weeks most popular stories.
