Pumas vs All Blacks team announced and more
Argentina have named their side to face the All Blacks in this weekend’s Rugby Championship fixture on Saturday in La Plata, retaining the same starting side that put Australia under pressure a fortnight ago.
The only changes in the 22-man squad sees prop Marcos Ayerza and lock Tomas Vallejos included on the replacement bench, replacing Juan Pablo Orlandi and Leonardo Senatore respectively.
The Pumas let a 19-6 lead over Australia slip away two weeks ago, with the Wallabies piling on 17 unanswered points in the last twenty minutes to edge the game 23-19. This weekend’s home side will no doubt look to seal their first win of the competition in front of an always vocal Argentinian crowd.
Argentina: 15 Lucas Gonzalez Amorosino, 14 Gonzalo Camacho, 13 Marcelo Bosch, 12 Santiago Fernandez, 11 Horacio Agulla, 10 Juan Martin Hernandez, 9 Martin Landajo, 8 Juan Martin Fernandez Lobbe (Captain), 7 Juan Manuel Leguizamon, 6 Julio Farias Cabello, 5 Patricio Albacete, 4 Manuel Carizza, 3 Juan Figallo, 2 Eusebio Guinazu, 1 Rodrigo Roncero
Replacements: 16 Agustin Creevy, 17 Marcos Ayerza, 18 Tomas Vallejos, 19 Tomas Leonardi, 20 Nicolas Vergallo, 21 Martin Rodriguez, 22 Juan Imhoff.

Re: Pumas vs All Blacks team announced and more
It's going to be an even more bruising encounter. Luckily we've had a week off to rest our bodies against a very physical Bok pack. Argentina may be smaller across the park but their defence is brutal and a few young ABs like Romano are not used to being picked up, driven back and dumped on their backs.
So it's going to be a ferocious in the first half with a parochial crowd no doubt lifting the Pumas. The key for Argentina is to make that period count and put points on the board consistently and put the ABs under pressure. If it's fairly even then I expect NZ to pull away in the final quarter. But if Argentina can get a handy lead and put NZ under pressure, then they're in with a great shout.
Carter looks to be 97 per cent and probably will come back into the side. Who will be the replacement flyhalf if that happens though will be interesting. Cruden hasn't been very effective in his two games this 4N.
What time is kickoff for us fans living in Spain Argie fan? I hope the time difference isn't too inconvenient.

Can’t wait for this, I’m revved up and my son will be in for a rude awakening when he is hauled out of bed at midnight to watch with me (brings back memories of my youth!). Kia ko time is 12:10 here, it'll be 01:10 for you!
This will be a test of character for our lot, Argentina have won respect but they want wins more than anything. Enough of the token gestures and lip service, they want to chalk up consistent wins. I just don’t think it’ll happen this week. NZ by 5

No wonder you're hauling him out of bed at 12:10. Missing the better part of the day getting up then.
So 0010 for you and 0110 for me. Cheers mate. What's with the ten minutes. Is there going to be a stage performance by the Pumas after the haka challenge?
Argentina will feel frustrated that they had two clear chances to nail a win and let both slip through their fingers. Who cares if one ended in a draw and next to nobody gave them a hope in hell of coming even close to winning. They know they put in a performance that could've and should've got a win, much like SA last week in Dunedin.
I wonder if we'll commit more players to the rucks or whether Hansen will persist in this new attacking strategy. I'm getting a bit weary of being promised spark on attack only to have the flames of pace and execution doused well and truly.

Fairly predictable All Blacks side,no Ben Franks again instead a S15 player at best.May rue the day if the front two get injured, very solid bench nice to see Ben Smith there.

Ben Franks hasn't convinced me in the black jersey either Alan. Give the guy a chance-it's not like he's taking over from a World XV candidate or anything.
Woohoo Carter vs Hernandez. It's on.
Hoping the weather in La Plata is lovely. What was impressive vs Argentina was NZ's fitness told even in the wet. Hope that the ABs can break it down, shift the point of contact rapidly and run those big boys off their feet. Let's get Savea one on one with people.

Thing is they are going back to a ball carrying prop{Afoa) for one who can scrummage.Ben Franks is a very tidy Tight Head,no more than useful at loose head.Next year The Brothers Grimm,Woodcock, and WyattCrockett[among worlds best loose heads].A props job is to Scrummage first, support in the lineout, clean out rucks, support in the mauls. After that if he wants to play on the wing fine,BUT it is not his primary job.

Alan, Ben Franks is aiming to specialise as a loosehead next season at the 'Canes so someone else will be challenging Owen in for the 3 jersey http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/rugby/super-rugby/7715145/Ben-Franks-inks-Hurricanes-deal
That said, Super XV is sticking with the 7 man bench next year (http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/rugby/super-rugby/7734315/Sanzar-rules-out-extra-prop-in-Super-Rugby), so he will likely get time on both sides.

People sit in front of the TV at 20:00, and they have 10 more minutes of advertising.

OMG, 1010 NZST KO! Can we play SA's home games in La Plata?
22oC is nice, typical summer's day in NZ, hope they rehydrate well. I heard on the radio you guys (media) are bullish (confident) and rightly so. However, outside WCs the ABs generally thrive on pressure and new challenges so am expecting them to finally click, as we've been waiting for and promised. You guys will be up for it, and the ABs will be, so am expecting a goodun.

La plata stadium
Here I let you a pictures of La Plata stadium, with a special dedication to my friend Sin é, who says that our stadiums look fairly ramshackle.
Capacity: 36,000 all-seater.
The stadium has 106 air-conditioned boxes, LCD 32'' and CCTV.
But the best of this stadium you can't see in these pictures, the best is the crowd, don't forget the argentine's passion crowd in this match.
Enjoy it.

Argentine's crowd lyrics
Here a let you the most famous Argentine's lyrics in stadiums, so you can beat the game.
In Spanish:
Vamos, vamos Argentina,
vamos, vamos a ganar,
que esta barra quilombera,
no te deja, no te deja de alentar.
English translation:
Let's go, let's go Argentina,
We're gonna, we're gonna win,
for these raucous supporters,
won't stop, won't stop cheering you.
The adjective quilombera used in the third line is a mildly obscene term. In the lunfardo argot, quilombo means brothel; the word is used by Argentines (when profanity is tolerated) to mean "bedlam" or "mess". In this case, quilombera is used to describe the fact that football fans make a lot of noise and usually a mess of throwing confetti when goals are scored. On recordings, or when profanity is not tolerated, quilombera is replaced by bullanguera ("rackety").
This chant unites all of Argentina's supporters regardless of their club allegiance. It had its first heyday during the 1978 World Cup, played in Argentina, and is often the first song attempted by Argentine expatriates when the national team visits a foreign country. Usage has spread to basketball, volleyball teams, and the Los Pumas rugby union team.
Another song
In spanish:
Sooooy argentino, es un sentimiento no puedo parar,
Ole ole ole, ole ole ole OLA,
Ole ole ole cada dia te quiero mas...
In English:
I'm Argentine, is a feeling I can't stop,
Ole ole ole, ole ole ole OLA,
ole ole ole, I love you more each day...
Another song
In spanish:
Yo te daré
te daré niña hermosa
te daré una cosa
una cosa que empieza por "P"
PUMAS!!
In English:
I will give,
I will give you beautiful girl,
I'll give you something,
something that starts with "P",
PUMAS!

Re: Pumas vs All Blacks team announced and more
Can’t wait reminds me of being a kid again getting up in the middle of the night. 1989 was a great one, both the All Blacks and the Kiwis were on tour so there was something on pretty much every weekend and in the middle of the week.
The boy has been duly warned to expect being hauled out of bed just before midnight, which he’s looking forward to. He’ll bring down his All Blacks duvet, clothed in his AB shirt. We’ll get some beer, popcorn and crisps and watch the best team in the world go to the most exciting destination in Rugby (in my opinion anyway).
NRL final later that morning too! Last year was great, NZ played Canada in the WC then the Junior Warriors won their second Toyota Cup but sadly the Warriors let themselves down in the NRL final. That was a sleepless night!

Makes it very easy to learn though.
I must admit I had a chuckle with the verse yo te daré niña hermos una cosa que empieza por P.
Pumas has the right number of syllables but that's not what first came to my mind I have to confess!

The last 2 matches between Argentina and New Zealand played in Argentina:
01/12/2001 Argentina 20 – Nueva Zelanda 24 Buenos Aires
24/06/2006 Argentina 19 – Nueva Zelanda 25 Buenos Aires
Now, I think Argentina is better prepared than ever, so I bet for an Argentina's win.

They always seem to get you when they attack the ABs from their set-piece. I'm a bit anxious about facing this Puma's team in the autumn, especially first up.

That should teach Messam never to kick again. Argentina broke away but a loose pass and Savea kicks on and a well taken try puts the gap out further after two traded penalties with the ABs one very harsh on Argentina.

An interesting half. Argentina came out firing and the ABs looked shaky in the first 15 minutes. SA should note that the AB defence can be opened up if you run at them. There have been a few times the AB line has broken.
Unfortunately for Argentina so too was their line broken. Argentina haven't been able to slow down the AB ball and there's been better protection at the rucks. Also Carter has looked sharp and the ABs have finally clicked on attack.

Well the tight and loose forward units for NZ have been in over-drive for 30 minutes, and the stream of quick ball looks lethal. Especially now the early jitters are gone and Savea has remembered he's not there to kick up and unders.
I wonder if the attitude we see at half time from the Argie pundits is reflective also of team metality. He seemed dejected and resigned to defeat already.
They should recall France 1999 and remember that in open games both teams can score a lot of tries...they seem to have the pace and ellusive.

There were press snippets saying that they think they've cracked the Argentine defence. That looks to be true. The passes two out from forward to forward are sticking and they look good.
You have to admire the way they take the crowds out of the equation. They are by far the best at it. Waiting for lulls for the opposition to lose concentration, then hitting them hard with cold hearted ruthless efficiency.
Now I'm picking 50. They're running the Argies off their feet because they have the quick ball to do so.
