Difficult to pick a best ever team for our great nation but here's mine.
I have picked players from me era only.

Tried to pick players that I've actually seen rather than Charlton, Moore etc. The lack of any kind of wide players is probably the most noticeable thing. I considered Joe Cole, then decided he was never good enough.

Yeah, I had Waddle but although he was good, he like Barnes never really done it for England.
Paul Scholes, imo, is a better player than Lampard but Frank has again imo, played better for England. Scholes was superb 1997 - 2002(ish) but no thanks to Sven, didn't play consistently well after that.
