V2 WWC 2012 The Line Up
Apologies for the delay in this, I know the original ‘advertisement’ for the WWC was last month, however I’ve not had the chance to put it together until now.
But we are now ready to go with 2012’s instalment of the wrestling world cup!
The competition will have the same format as last year consisting of 96 competitors broken down into wrestlers from WWE,TNA and the independent circuit such as ROH, New Japan etc.
The main difference from last year’s tournament is that the voting this year will based on the individuals last 12 month’s body of work rather than ‘who do you rate the highest’. When voting you should take into account promo quality, feuds, match quality, in ring performance etc. etc. etc.
The Seeding’s for this year’s competition are based on top PWI 500 list rather than the individuals combined history which should lead to some very interesting matches in the early rounds and hopefully more variety in the later stages.
The earlier thread ‘WWC 2012’ which has been up for well over a month was your opportunity to have some input in the selection process and format so thank you to everyone who posted, hopefully this year’s tournament will be bigger and better than the last and hopefully create some really good debate on the board on a daily basis.

This list is not the top 96 of the PWI as I made the decision that certain wrestlers didn’t warrant a spot or their inclusion was irrelevant, however every competitor is within the top 175. I don’t believe there are any glaring omissions (bar Jefferson Impact), the tournament will start this week therefore if you’ve any major issue with any inclusions or omissions you will need to let me tomorrow at the latest.
The line-up is a little WWE heavy compared to last year, this is due to WWE signing up a lot of independent talent over the last 12 months

Re: V2 WWC 2012 The Line Up
Adam Cole, Michael Elgin & Kyle O'Reilly
If it's based on the last 12 months, each of these guys really deserve to be in on merit as they've really raised their game and impressed in a number of promotions.
I'd probably replace Mason Ryan, Great Khali and somebody else to get these 3 in

He came in at 253rd on the PWI 500 which is just to much of a push considering the lowest ranked wrestler in the WWC is 173rd
But if enough people think he should be included then i'm happy to, if you can get 5 people to back you up and post below that he should be, i'll include him!

I'll back Dean Ambrose being included, just so Hero's heart can be broken when he's knocked out in the first round to the Great Khali.

I'm more than happy to consider any one, my knowledge of the indy's is not that sharpe so if someone is obviously more well informed like yourself says they should be included i'm happy to do so, like before get five people to back you and i'll add them in

is anybody else going to back up my suggestions if not at least 1 or 2 of them? If Ambrose is in, that justifies why any of these 3 guys should be in surely?

Prephaps you could write a short evaluation on each guy to prove why they merit a slot? and maybe others including myself will back you

Surely guys that have fans such as Ambrose and Cole etc deserve to be in over guys that have no support like Mason Ryan etc?

Ok it sounds as if these three deserve a spot, which three from the 6th seeds would you replace?
Baring in mind that mason Ryan is already in a 'pre qualifying' vote with Ambrose so he'll need to be left alone.

Yoshi Tatsu, Volador Jr, Ezekiel Jackson or The Great Khali
I'd also look at replacing Evan Bourne as he's been injured the past 12 months so maybe Michael McGillicutty

Re: V2 WWC 2012 The Line Up
I know I've come to it a little late given the first match is this morning but I'd back Enigma's suggestions, these are the 3 rising stars of ROH at the moment and though they may not win anything, given there is a strong but small indy fanbase of here I could see there inclusion leading to stronger debate, looking back over there fantastic years against their more established counterparts, rather than the likes of Khali and Jackson who no one could seriously make a case for getting through the first round.
That said I'm happy with whatever and I don't want to put undue pressure on yourself given the level of work which must be involved in this already and am just looking forward to the start of what is by far and away my favorite 606/v2 competition (as anyone who saw my whiney rants on the last 606 WWC can attest to).
