Do you want Ambrose in the World Cup?
Vote Ambrose
A crime has taken place upon these very boards.
A travesty of justice, a sin that cannot be brushed aside.
Dean Ambrose is not in the V2 World Cup.
Now from some of you I expect a ‘who?’
Who indeed.
Dean Ambrose (or for the old schoolers Jon Moxley) is a Future WWE World Champion, of that I have no doubt. Here is a man that can make CM Punk’s pipebombs seem like a fart in a bath. Here is a man that is a modern day Roddy Piper & Brian Pillman rolled into one. Here is a man that is something so very different to the vanilla world of wrestling today and we need him in the World Cup.
MOTC says its due to his position in the PWC Top 500. Well I ask you this. Is a Big Show, a Sin Cara, a Ryback that’s been rammed down your throat for the past few months etc going to win your vote?
But is a man that had Punk heading down to FCW to have a 30 minute match with?
A man that got Foley so worked up he wrote a huge diatribe of anger about on his blog?
A guy that gave Regal his best feud for the past 10 years?
Ambrose has been kept off our screens I admit as much. It cannot continue, he’s currently back on the dark matches and sooner or later in the coming months he will debut and he will win over the most ardent disbeliever.
So I make this request, vote for Dean Ambrose to enter the V2 World Cup, vote for Ambrose as two fingers up to the current tired product WWE are churning out every single week.

To be fair Hero, it's probably easier for Beer when there isn't someone like Hero pestering him to let him win

I voted No.
I think it would be at the expense of Heath Slater and I wouldn't be having that

Re: Vote Ambrose
This will end badly either way...
1) Ambrose gets through, jobs to Khali in the first round causing Hero to foam at the mouth, plays the 'my site' card and closes the tournament down.
or
2) Ambrose gets voted to win in every round, making a mockery of all MToTheC's work, but leaving Hero with a big, but slightly disturbing smile on his face.
Either way it's must see tv!

Re: Vote Ambrose
I'm not one to move the goal posts but surely he has to win this poll????
Personally I rate Ambrose very highly and think his potential is limitless however his PWI ranking is low compared to some of the other NXT/developmental guys that the only reason I didn’t include him to start with.
ED are you going to come up with another WWC defining quote ala your 'sweeping up the debris' line?
or pick your new lost cause to promote?

Yeah but then you got ahead of yourself. You should let the poll play out and see what happens.
Or just wait till it starts and edit MToTheC's post?

Re: Vote Ambrose
MtotheC - I can confirm that there will be a new era defining quote that may or may not be applied to many of the wrestlers in the competition.
My full support however will remain behind Heath Slater, though Drew Mac and Jinder Mahal are likely to get a rub.
I am also a big fan of someone called Kofi Kingston, who I will be looking to spread awareness about over the duration of this competition

Re: Vote Ambrose
I'm going to catch some flack for this one, but I don't care. It's my column, my opinion. Although to be honest, I would rather today's category be most overhyped instead of most overrated, but I can't exactly change the rules, can I?
My pick for most overrated wrestler is a guy that I'm a fan of, and so are the majority of LOP contributors. The guy is a phenomenal young talent, skilled between the ropes, and is extremely charismatic. Many people believe he is the future of professional wrestling, and it's hard to argue with them. Time is definitely on his side, as he's only 26, and even though he's yet to make his main roster - a part from wrestling at live events, which doesn't really count - he is being touted as the next big thing, a future main-eventer. Many people claim he will shake up the WWE with his mere presence.
That is where I step in. Like I said, I really like the guy, and he has a bright future ahead of him, no doubt about it. But come on, the guy hasn't even made an appearance on RAW or SmackDown yet people are insisting he will be used correctly and should be placed in a major angle right off the bat. Sorry, but it doesn't work that way. Just because the guy is super talented, that doesn't mean he should be working a program with CM Punk or Daniel Bryan the same night he debuts. However, some people don't understand, and continue to create scenarios where he will show up and turn the WWE upside down. Folks, it's not going to happen. The dude is awesome, but you're overrating him like crazy. I'm talking about the one, the only,
Dean Ambrose
It boggles my mind how overhyped Ambrose is, it really does. Like I keep on saying, the dude is a beast, but you're setting yourself up for disappointment if you really think WWE will use him correctly from the get-go. Look how long it took other 'internet darlings' like Punk and Bryan to make it big in the company. Punk started off in ECW; Bryan in NXT, the show that replaced ECW. Everyone starts off somewhere, and so will Ambrose. Why people are begging for him to get the 'Tensai push' by being brought in and getting victories over top superstars weeks after his debut is beyond me. We all know how well that worked out for the big man, don't we? It would be even worse for Ambrose, who's much younger than Tensai, to get the same kind of push, as it would leave him with absolutely nowhere to go but downhill.
Also, just because he's really good, that doesn't make Ambrose the best wrestler on the planet. I recall a house show report from a few weeks ago in which the guy who submitted the results confessed to not being overly impressed with Ambrose's match. The poor guy got tons of hate in the comments section, just because he expressed his opinion. He didn't call Ambrose a terrible worker or a bore to watch, he simply didn't like what he saw, and he was honest about it.
I really like Ambrose, but please people, cool it with the hype. Let the guy prove why he's awesome, stop telling us over and over and over.

I've got to agree with KB lets see how this plays out! think you may need to drum up some more support 9-6 down currently!
If he wins the poll he can take Mason Ryans spot as he's currently off TV despite the fact that he's over 100 places higher on PWI

Are these no votes though in reality a no vote for Ambrose or simply a no vote for me?
I'd state they were the latter and therefore should be discounted.

Because it's clearly not about Ambrose v Ryan anymore is it. It could be any wrestler at all v any other wrestler at all and whichever I choose would lose.

Re: Vote Ambrose
really your going to do this because ambrose is not in a competition which he would have no chance in?
it just seems completely pointless and not everyone has heard of him so i just dont see the effort(he is good but your overrating him like he is the savoir to the world).

Ambrose is in ryan is out!
he'd better get through the first round after all this hero!!!

I fully realise he isn't going to win, that's not the point, there are 96 wrestlers in the competition.
How many genuinely have a chance of winning?
4 or 5?
Shall we just cut to the chase and get rid of all the rest now?
No.
Has everyone heard of him? No, again I agree on that point.
Have you seen many Leo Kruger, Jun Akiyama (ranked 6th in the list), Jonny Gargano or Volador Jr matches in the past year then?

Infact if they called him Dean Scotland they could keep changing his name the higher up the card he went, while he was a certain name he'd need to follow the culture of that Country, all they way until he became Dean Spain or Dean Brazil, infact Deano Brazil has a certain ring to it
