Give Ambrose the stunner
Dirty Deeds is a crap finisher.
Firstly the name is rubbish.
Secondly it's just one of those finishers that just does not get the crowd excited, it just doesn't fit with Ambrose's character.
Recently at WM we saw Cena use a springboard stunner to add to his 5 moves of doom, The Stunner a move synonymous with Austin and used by a guy who's pretty much the antithesis to Stone Cold. Ambrose though could revel with it, it's made for his character, the wild snap at any moment, take out friend or foe antihero. It could even be used storyline wise as a passing of the torch in a much better way than they had Flair pass on the figurefour to The Miz. It's also Wrestlemania in Austin's home state next Spring, the possible final match that everyone's hoped for. Why not finish it off with Austin & Ambrose v HHH & Rollins?

Now that Rollins is using a DDT finisher have Ambrose use The Rainmaker that he used on Smackdown his finisher.

Ambrose and Austin would be so many million times better than that awful tag match.
Ambrose's finisher so obviously needs to be the crossface chickenwing. Nothing looks more insane than a frantic chickenwing.
Funnily enough, I'd love to see Ambrose feud with Hunter and take the Pedigree. But I think Hunter will be going so long that he won't want his move taken.
A brainbuster wouldn't be awful.

The problem with him taking the Stunner, all you're going to get is people comparing him to Austin and he's nowhere near as good. It brings more unnecessary comparisons drawn between the two, which only harms Ambrose for me.

Other way I would like to see him go, if Bray doesn't take the move (I have been banging on about that for a while), would be to use the Mandible Claw.

I went with the tag because Austin hasn't wrestled for how many years, better to let the young guys do the majority of the ringwork and just let Austin come in for the hot tags. If Austin has the stamina then a one on one would be preferred, one that after the match the heels come down to beat down them both but they have each other's back and fight them off.

I don't think it harms Ambrose at all, when Ambrose was at his peak of his push last year with Reigns and Bryan out that was when the majority of Austin comparisons came in. A move like the Stunner shouldn't be assigned to the history books and Ambrose is someone who does need a better finisher, one that gets the crowd behind him when he's about to hit it.
It would require a story behind it and this is where I think the run of Austin being involved in the passing of the torch helps elevate Ambrose.

Re: Give Ambrose the stunner
I think the biggest problem with this is in the first lines of the OP. Cena has already recently appropriated this move, and its not even his finisher.
I quite agree that both the name and the execution of Dirty Deeds are not main event material. But Ambrose's bigger problem is that he's not a guy WWE is behind, so he hardly even needs a finisher.
I think one of the odd things about his Dirty Deeds is that he went from doing it as a bulldog/DDT to a double arm DDT. A simple way of making Ambrose look more effective would be to allow him to do both, it would mean that he can hit the move from different angles and places and it would be a "Dirty Deeds out of nowhere", but I guess too complicated for the WWE universe to have one move that can be hit two ways.

Re: Give Ambrose the stunner
Apparently the changed the Dirty Deeds to the underhook DDT because it was more difficult for someone to take safely (IE John Cena).
I think the Chicken Wing would be a great move for him. Would fit his character brilliantly. I would keep Dirty Deeds as it is, maybe tweak it a bit so its more like Drew McIntyres Future Shock DDT, and keep it as a signature/secondary finisher.
There should also be a bit of a build up to him getting a submission finisher instead of him just banging it out one day. Much like Cena when he started using the STF - it was out of necessity to win a submission match.

Re: Give Ambrose the stunner
Thanks for the explanation Samo, makes sense.
I'd be worried that a Chicken Wing would just encourage this beyond cartoonish Ambrose, which IMO is not his best image. I'm not even sure he needs a submission hold. What would work for his character is a finisher that can be reversed, i.e. it is devastating but if he does it at the wrong time or against the wrong opponent it can be his downfall. I think that would fit well into a character who takes all the chances for a win.
