Q & A Session with Kal Yafai - Last Chance to put forward Questions Empty Q & A Session with Kal Yafai - Last Chance to put forward Questions

Morning 606v2'ers

I know many of you were impressed with the young Kal Yafai this past weekend so I am delighted to announce I am now in the midst of setting up and interview with him. He has agreed to do a Q & A session with me, timings & date are currently being worked upon. Obviously he is just starting out but has great knowledge & experience of the amateur game where he just missed out on an Olympic spot...so sure he could talk at length about that side of the game.

Anyone interested please submit any questions you would like me to put forward to him.

Owen

What are your views on the amateur scoring system. In particular, your last bout you displayed some very good body shots which often to not score. Do you feel caused you to change from your more natural fighting style.

Is it frustrating to fight with amateur gloves - now that you've moved into professional ranks and do you feel a major difference in the impact of your shots on the opponents and your own hands?

Eddie Hearn said he thinks your ready for a British title at this moment in time and a Jason booth fight may by be too far off, what do level you see yourself competing at 2013 and do you mind being fast tracked so early in your career

Will you be looking to make a statement by dropping booth should it come to fruition or will you be looking for a good distance fight

Who wins Quigg or Frampton if they fought tomorrow?

You said your a big SBW, are you comfortable enough to remain there for a couple of years or will you be looking to go up to lightweight

Which boxers are your favourites and do you base you fighting style in anyone in particular

Cheers for those one's lads.

Interview date is confirmed so this one is definitely going ahead. I know he isn't a huge name but I always think anything is better than nothing plus it gives us a route into the Matchroom stable & hopefully future Q & A's with the likes of Froch, Barker and possibly even Eddie.

I will leave this on till the end of the week so everyone has 5 days to put there questions forward.

Thanks Spencer.

That was part of my thinking really. At the moment British boxing is buzzing with plenty of prospects out there.

Whilst it is all well and good getting interviews with retired fighters etc I do think it would be great to have more Q & A sessions with people who are live and in the sport now.

As I mentioned earlier I am hoping this can lead to 'getting in' with those at Matchroom which could lead to some big interviews down the line.

We had the same with Frampton, I am gonna be honest, he looks sensational, granted as did the likes of Frankie Gavin at the beginning so we can't get too carried away, but I really think this guy could be special.

How far do you believe you can go in the sport?

With the SFW division as it is at the moment, do you think that you may have to move up to LW to gain better recognition for your victories?

He's at Bantamweight/superbantam atm so I can't see him at lightweight for a couple years

SBW is very strong both domestically and internationally. Wouldn't put him in with a Galahad, Quigg, Frampton, Munroe not untill he has proven he is above domestic level like all those (except Galahad who is 22 but almost past it) have shown

Booth would be a good fight as booth is past it but is tough to beat inside the distance and will test yafai over a greater distance.

If he's remaing at BW then Hall would be a good test for him

Sorry just wondering how? I've actually not seen him but have seen his record. What's the factors to be considered to say a 22 yr old is past it? Not trying to start an argument just wondering.

I think he meant past domestic level.

Sorry I didn't write that very well, I meant that Galahad is almost past domestic level and at only 22 whereas Frampton, Quigg and Munroe are past domestic level

However you look at it, super-bantam is a horrible division in which to try to excel at the moment, almost anywhere in the world, it seems. If Yafai can make bantam, which his handlers seemed to be indicating that he could, that must be the best idea for the moment.

My bad, I didn't realise, for some reason I thought he was a SFW...
