Biggest upset you got right.
First topic message reminder :
Good morning
All of us usually have a fancy before a big fight, but what was your biggest call? Which underdog did you call right?
Did anyone predict and take the 24/1 Holyfield to beat Tyson for instance?
Mine , I predicted Margarito v Cotto 1 about right, Mosley over De La Hoya back in the millennium year, I predicted McLellan would knock Benn out in the first round (I was almost right)
Worst, Trinidad to knock Winky senseless, Kostya to hammer Hatton inside 4 and shamefully thought Chavez would catch up with Whitaker.
What's your best call
Cheers Rodders

However, back on topic, I've called the winner to every fight for the last 20years including the upsets.
You really think so? I don't think there's any outrageous picks here like Douglas to beat Tyson or Holy to beat Tyson. Most people have also admitted the howlers, would seem pretty pointless to be lying on a forum.
I've never placed a bet and I know nothing about odds or favourites or any of that "failed attempt to beat the swear filter" because I think it is "failed attempt to beat the swear filter"!
But I don't think it was an upset that Evander Holyfield beat Mike Tyson? To the casual perhaps? Personally, I always had Holyfield to win, ALWAYS.

I don't bet myself, maybe twice 20 years ago on horses & of course have done the lottery but generally doesn't interest me.
Fair do's with regards to Holyfield over Tyson, I wanted Tyson to win at the time & probably got caught up in the hype surrounding him, don't mind admitting it same as when Hatton fought PBF, back of my mind I thought Floyd would win it but I couldn't write off Hatton, thought he'd make it competitive & really push Floyd, that's the hype machine for you.

Biggest one I got right was Lewis when he fought Tyson. Tyson was a massive name in the sport and had a fearsome reputation which lead many people to overlook Lewis. Lewis always had the boxing ability to beat Tyson but it was also Tysons bullying and intimidation that he needed to overcome When I saw how relaxed and cool Lewis was then I knew he had Tysons number! I knew Khan would get knocked out in his last fight when almost everyone else was saying how great he was and would win easily but he is overrated and people buy into what they hear on Sky way to much. Biggest one I got wrong? I have to admit I never saw Holyfield beating Tyson coming! That was a real shock! I couldnt believe what I was watching at the time!

Lewis was the betting favourite for that fight. Hardly an upset if the favourite wins. Hey but maybe you know better.

Blimey, predicting a shock like that shows true knowledge of the sport.
