I don't get people not rating Bonnaire - he's tops IMO. International player and can cover the whole back row. I'd have him in an instant if I didn't already have Croft and Brussow.

I agree on Bonnaire, definately not a weakness and certainly not when he has McCaw and Lobbe for company!

Don't get me wrong Bonnaire is a decent player but he's just not floating my boat and there are better players out there that will show him up, I am actually surprised he continues for France . . . He's probably the weakest of all the French back rows.

I don't disagree with that - when you're with Harinordoquy and Dusatoir that's not a bad thing. Kaino is the weakest of the NZ back row but would still walk into most national sides.

Lads, a little advice please. Thinking of releasing a player for 5-7 mil and getting in a player from foreigns for 18-20 mil.

Options are:

Release:
Watson
Crane
Hooper
Grindal
Ford
Allen
Hamilton

Buy:
LK
BR
SH/FH
CE
B3

What do you reckon?

Watson - does a job, stock might have fallen now not even playing S15 anymore
Crane - not a fan, not near the england shirt and rightfully so, good back up though
Hooper - would be a 4th lock
Grindal - release
Ford - release
Allen - good for a 3rd centre
Hamilton - good for back up

Would release grindal and ford straight away, but guess you won't get much cash for them, maybe 9m total?

Busy busy busy morning on here.

Release flaming Grindal and Ford wastes of space, keep Crane very underrated and keep Allen you can't let Anthony go. Hamilton good player but you can do so much better at this stage.

Also about gloucesterbear being me, it's not true I change my username often as you all know. Rowleyfox means something to me, im a Leicester City fan, Leicester City are nicknamed foxes and Rowley Fields is the area of Leicester I live in. I could of called myself Rowleytiger but I thought Rowleyfox sounded better. Does Gloucester have anything to do with Bears, no if he want's that as his username let him be, I know it a coincidence but my username is for a reason I told you all of this when I changed it.

Just watched the reds v crusaders, thats sums of super 15 perfectly i reckon for me. Some sublime attacking moves, but far too often, aimless kicking, wayward passing, loose rucking and poor ball retention. Entertaining yes, miles ahead of the NH, no.

Was Quade Cooper to blame for wayward passing and aimless kicking?

They all were to be honest. Not a fan of QC, but he kicked well and a couple of times he got caught in tricky defensive positions and wriggled his way out beautifully.

In your face 207, I love you Bathite Yahoo

His kicking game is poor, yes tricky defensive positions but we know that is one of the best forms of his game but he is overrated.

Quade Cooper is in my opinion the best attacking 10 in world rugby and is quickly becoming a sublime defensive full back. He dances out of all of the pressure situations and making turnovers.

I personally think he outplayed Carter on Sunday but Lord Dan can do know wrong in pundits eyes even though he has never played behind a poor pack in his career.

and Quade had Richie McCaw against him which made it much harder for him.

i agree with sharks here - i prefer cooper over carter.

coopers attacking is 2nd to none. Carter I admit is 100% more reliable and you can guarantee he will tackle, but simply for attacking coops gets my vote.

hes like a carols spencer or campazee - too good to leave out even though he makes mistakes.

Im happy to give credit where credit is due. Im not an extreme rater, don't put people on pedestals and conversely there are only a very few that I will slate - Tim Payne being one of them!!

I just said I wasn't a fan, I think he is electric to watch and has unbelievable tekkers, possibly the best in the world, but he has his flaws as well. I prefer a lower risk ten personally. He is just extreme, out of this world attacking skills, but couldn't tackle a wet blanket

rowley I don't ever claim he is the best at defense or best kicker even in my squad. He is however easily the best attacking FH and probably one of the best attacking players in the world.

Flood is definitely over-rated not even the best 10 in this country.

If Flood is overrated and isn't our best 10 why is he ahead of Wilkinson still?

Johnson knows all the qualities of Wilkinson they played with each other at the 2003 World Cup, but he prefers Toby because Toby is the better player at this moment in time.

See where your coming from Steve...Carter had a stinker. Saying that though he was amazing in defence and made some cracking breaks.

Cooper is certainly developing his weaker aspects of his game but is a long way off the rounded game of Carter, Evans and a firing JMH in my opinion. He still a young lad though.

Very easy to forget how young the likes of Young Cooper Genia are, so i bare that in mind when people say 'he's lost it, struggling to match heights of last year' etc.

I think to a certain extent the very highly talented youngsters who get thrown into int rugby will do very well, because they are unknown and unpredictable, certainly the case for those three.

Don't underestimate how much time teams spend looking at tape and footage of players, so naturally once they burst onto the scene, their performance might drop, thats not because they are suddenly bad players, just that oppositions have better insight how to play them.

The same thing happens in test matches, batsmen get found out, its the mark of a quality player who can improve/adapt/change their game to remain at the top e.g. Cook. Or someone who is just so good, it doesn't matter that you know what he is going to do, you can't stop it - Glenn McGrath, Jason Robinson, Dan Carter.

Better in 2003 but still not picked, everyone was saying Care has been better than Youngs this season and that Wilkinson all round is better than Toby.

Why not start Care and Wilkinson?

Evans is the best in the country by a country mile, yes I know it's called the Leicester half back combo im not stupid.
