Don't think It's on tv. Odd that Tigers are fielding a loosehead at 3 and Geordie is on the bench. Expect Ford to utilise the five lineout jumpers in the Tigers pack and kick to the corner often. It's a big and nasty Tigers pack but not the most mobile.

Yea people may notice the wildly screaming crowd (sounds very well supported!) and the Attenboroughesq loud whispering commentator.
You guys have it so good, a weekly radio show and commentary for these kinds of things. Wish Quins would get in touch with one of the london radio shows to spread the word a bit, maybe even capital, I know a lot of fans would listen to a weekly show going by the podcasts that are popular.

He seems to have remembered to wear his kicking boots today.

Very possible... Maybe Cockers put them back on for him and got left and right muddled?

Maori sound like they're playing less Baabaa's rugby and controlling the game a bit more, Tigers putting in some big hits and kicking well in return.

FT
32-24 to Tigers. No idea how strong the Maori side was as most names unfamiliar to me - but good win never the less.

Re: Tigers v Maori - Tuesday Night
Went to the game this evening and very glad I did so. The haka was very well respected by the tigers fans unlike at twickers and you actually got to hear it. It gave the game a real sense of occasion and IMO was the exact reason it should be in the game and how it should be done every time. The first half lived up to the expectation created with both teams playing good rugby just the tigers with more precision and the Maoris errors really cost them. However in the second half the Maoris played with more precision and Leicesters back play stagnated without Smith. But the Tigers held on, really good game all round, should also mention Tigers defence was really good marshalled well by Allen who was outstanding.

Murphy was replaced on the bench by Forsyth. Late change. How did Balmain do out of position at 3?

Considering Balmain is normally a loose head he did extremely well and did not look out of sorts in the scrum and also in the loose where he was good. There were a few blips a penalty here and there and one scrum that went past 90 and led to a try but as he is a young lad and that there were also a few very dominant scrums for the tigers he is definitely an able deputy.

Re: Tigers v Maori - Tuesday Night
Exceptional performance. They really worked hard for that. The teams were knocking lumps out of each other. That was no mere friendly! Tigers worked very hard and managed to disrupt the Maori, which helped in stopping their backs, who looked very good. Set piece was excellent. Lineout was flawless, and the scrum was often dominant. Well played Balmain! Tigers made the Maori fight for every inch, and Tigers took the chances they were given. Well deserved win, against a very good side.
Man of the match was probably Allen, though a forward probably deserves it for that effort. Deacon maybe.

What a win! That's only the second loss in 24 games since 2003 for the Maori.
This win is up there with the Saffa game a couple of years ago!

George Ford booted the Leicester Tigers to a famous 32-24 victory over the Maori All Blacks in front of a packed Welford Road on Tuesday night.
The young fly-half slotted 22 points as the Tigers handed the Maori's
their first loss since 2007. But it was the visitors who took the early
advantage thanks to a score from Frae Wilson but the Tigers soon struck
back through Ford's boot and a try from Niall Morris. The Tigers then
stretched their lead through Adam Thompstone's try but Tim Bateman
struck back for the away side with a score of his own to make the score
26-17 in favour of the Tigers at the break.
Ford then nudged over an early penalty in the second 40 but Charlie
Ngatai's try kept the Maori's hot on the heels of the hosts. Both teams
suffered late sin-binnings with Dan Bowden and Jarrod Hoeata seeing
yellow and a further penalty from Ford took the score to 32-24. The
visitors attempted to rally in the closing stages but the Tigers held on
for the win.
