Unofficial RWC Final Result
NZ 33
Wales 10
Prior to the game there was a lot of talk about NZ v Wales Nov 24 2012 being an "unofficial world cup final" between Wales (cruelly denied a place in the real final by a refereeing howler) and NZ (actual finalists). It was even introduced to that effect by John Inverdale, perhaps keen to fill up his prematch segment with some reference to a RWC in order to later segue into a monologue about the great white knight Jonny Wilkinson.
Everything was in place. Craig Joubert had been drafted back to complete to authenticity and the match had been restaged in Wales for commercial reasons. Tony Woodcock even dotted down a replica of his RWC final try, Piri Weepu waddled on and committed a series of howlers for his part, and Cruden had deputised for DC to complete the set up from the ABs side.
However I feel that on balance, France played the role of opposition finalist with more commitment and gusto and although Wales second try might have shaded France's effort on whole I feel the question of "what would have happened?" has now been answered.
Who's with me on this? and why has there been absolutely no mention of this since the game ended?

Dissappointed that no-one in the Welsh side tried to gouge Mccaw

After what Joubert did to France in that final I am amazed he is allowed to ref a game again, I would never go as far to claim he was a cheat but that is THE closest thing I have ever seen to a ref throwing a game!!!

Because only you and John Inverdale have been sucked in by it. No one in Wales thought that this was some sort of re run of a final that never was.
You used to be fun AWOP, now you're just sounding slightly mental.
