Why do so many people lie about lifting ???
You go on bodybuilding sites and all you read is I can squat 400......and then you see their leg measurements and think b******t.............
Then you read that they superset Squats with lunges/extensions etc......I'm trying to breathe properly for at least two minutes after a squat session although I'm a leg press man now with my back problems......
Benching it's all the same.......40 inch chest and they can bench 305 for 8 etc....
Why do so many bodybuilders feel the need to lie to people they'll never meet...
Crazy..

Ridiculous really & absolutely pointless. IMO they do it on forums as a way to 'validate' their argument against yours, I squat more than you therefore I know more than you. I remember on the old 606 having a discussion with D4 (bad I know) on nutrition after reading some interesting stuff on the weightlifting section & he countered me with he trains 10 times per week & takes all the best legal nutritional supplements under the sun, therefore he knows better. Pity he would never reveal what he took, how much he spent or what his routine was. He was aiming to put on the same amount of weight in muscle that Manny did in same amount of time to prove Manny was PED free!

The certifiable d4!!!!......
Sure you are right about validating their own claims.. Soho.....
But they don't realise how stupid they look.........

Did I ever mention that I bench 160kg? I'm 12 stone and 6ft tall, by the way...
Nope, no point whatsoever in lying. I'll happily say that I generally just bench 75kg, which is roughly my bodyweight. I could perhaps do 85kg for lesser reps, but I'm not one for too strenuous a workout.

Worse still are the people who partial rep then claim it as a PB. Proper form or no form at all.

They drive me mad, LJ. It's a waste of time, looks pathetic and does absolutely nothing for them.
Re: Why do so many people lie about lifting ???
The world is full of reality jugglers.... given that people can claim anything on the internet it's not surprising there is a disproportionate amount of them on there ....

Go on youtube and you see lots of videos like "10 x 308 warmup on Squats" and no other videos!!
Why would you record the warmup and not the working set..........
These people insult the intelligence!!!
