Still, the point of my post wasn't really to argue the toss over performance it was more just a defence of KP_fan. Every time I come on here one or another of you is having a go at him much like playground bullies. He doesn't appear to care much but it annoys me.
I'm not talking about just disagreeing with his points it's things like Alfie's "why do you care what England do when you support India" like the rest of you don't comment on other countries or Skyeman's "Indian call centre" comments that bug me.
Not that any of you will care as you congratulate yourselves on your self moderating clique of boarding school chums brought up on a staple diet of Jennings and Darbishire.
And by the way, how jolly dare you, i went to a grammar school.

Good for you GSC but why would you keep announcing that you're ignoring/you ignore him?
Do or do not there is no........

Yeah, sorry think you were a bad example to try and prove my point. I'm just off to the NFL section to extol the virtues of Andrew Luck. Am I likely to get sacked there an' all?

Can i just make a suggestion that there are not many total posts between KP fan and Hibbz {maybe himself or his mum} Granted Hibbz grammar is far superior to KP fans, but why else would the blind follow the blind?

Saker is obviously paving the way for Stuart Broad to be dropped - everytime a (relatively) regular England player gets dropped under Flower we've seen this kind of comment (e.g. Finn in Australia, Morgan in the UAE).

The problem is when you engage him in debate by adressing specific points he disappears, and then returns a couple of hours later, says exactly the same thing without even acknowledging your points. With that in mind there is no point in disagreeing with his points.
Frankly I'm perfectly happy to ignore him. But when people say we should give him credit, and then back that up with 3 points which he got all wrong I will say so. I'm not going to give him credit for talking rubbish.

Yeah cos that's not at all insulting... I'm french, I wouldn't know a boarding school if I got rogered in one...
On the whole I agree with Shelsey, I think this board is fantastic. It was noticeable though that the standard of debate dropped during KP-gate. Make of that what you will.

Re: Ashley Giles Named ODI and T20 Coach for England
OK better come back to this because :
First I asked KP_f a genuine question (Hibbz had a shot at me apparently thinking I was poking fun at him ,which wasn't the case.) He answered , seriously , and quite comprehensively , and I thank him for that.
I have absolutely no problem with KP_f putting forward his views on
any aspect of cricket. I often disagree with him , but what is discussion site for ?
Do I find his rather sneering comments about Flower , Broad , etc annoying and a bit silly ? Yes of course...but I sometimes take a similar view of some comments made by other posters. As some may do to some of mine ...it is a free country - free web , whatever...
I would never seek to have a person banned for expressing an opinion - am unreservedly on the side of Voltaire in this matter.
Would prefer KP_f cuts down on the Flower assassination campaign and gets on with commenting on what is actually happening ...would also prefer the rest of us leave off playing the man and enjoy healthy debate on the cricket , but ultimately it is up to each of us to say what we think , hopefully with respect to all , and as long as no actual malice is shown we should all enjoy this excellent and lively cricket board.
Sermon over.

Re: Ashley Giles Named ODI and T20 Coach for England
Since the topic has digressed on to KP_Fan, let me put across my view as well.
KPF and I agreed on a number of points across a number of debates. We have had a few disagreements when he has had a general go at Tendulkar or Dhoni.......
Do I think he has made a significant contribution to these boards? Most certainly. Look at the way the domestic cricket section developed. All that we had earlier was discussion on county cricket, but now we have made a beginning in a greater engagement with domestic cricket across India, New Zealand, South Africa and Australia. It has to be said unfortunately it seems only Pet and I are maintaining those sections more regularly.
During Petersengate, KPF put across his views very strongly, and at times he did go overboard and even deliberately so. KPF, myself, and a few others were on a clear minority during those debates. And I did mention to Mike and others, some of the posters from the majority side were not quite consistent in the kind of standards they demanded of others.
On Panesar again KPF did maintain from the very beginning that he should play. Like most others, I too was very sceptical and disagreed, but he, like many experts like Rahul Dravid, got it right.
I don't think KP emerged as the winner in the Pietersengate by any means. But perhaps the criticism about a bit too much of centralization of power also played a part in the latest decision on the England coaching setup?
Now again, we have seen a bit too much of double standards when it comes to the majority reaction to KPF here. There are people posting a lot of weird, obnoxious xenophobic nonsense here, but I haven't seen a reaction on the lines of what KPF gets.

KPF appears to have gone missing - he hasn't posted for nearly a week. And after all his talk of India hammering England in this Test Series...
