Re: FA Cup 3rd round Draw 2012/13
Liverpool away at a non league side im sure will get the ITV game. I imagine either West Ham vs Man United or Southampton vs Chelsea will be the other game.
We got Newcastle home, beat then in the 4th round last season 1-0. Hopefully same result this time
Crawley with another chance to keep on wining, Reading at home. Hastings United face another long trip up to Middlesbrough.

Some interesting ties there. Potential banana skin for Liverpool but we should have enough to get past that one though the home side will be well up for it.
West Ham - Man Utd will be decent as will Brighton - Newcastle. Obviously helps when the "smaller" side has home advantage.
Spurs - Coventry is a repeat of one of the last great FA Cup finals - when the cup really meant something - just a shame it's at the Lane.
Be interesting to see how Palace fare against a PL team in Stoke. We'll see how good this Palace team is against a well oiled top flight team.

will be gutted if we lose the replay after conceding in the last moments on saturday! but you can be assured we will sell out our allocation at mansfield next week and try and get the team through to face liverpool. i went kind of crazy when 59 drew 23

And we won't be happy if we lose to a side containing Gary Mills and Adam Smith and managed by Holdsworth. Sounded like the draw was a fair result on saturday anyway. I see the replay is on ESPN so one of us should be on telly twice in a matter of weeks. What a treat for the nation that will be, especially if it's us and our hoofball.

but also containing inform players power and taylor, or, power taylor its a great financial reward, a huge one infact, as gone are the days where we were both doing well in higher divisions, with crowds for derbies of 5/6,000+. it will be my first visit to mansfield strangely, as ive visited most of the other local sides (scunthorpe, hull, boston, notts county) hopefully will be picking my tickets up this lunchtime, or tonight at our game against woking. im hoping the facts that were in good form, have one of the top scorers, a loud away backing and the pressure of you playing at home will be enough to see us through. will be a great night. tbh im more excited about this game than the prospect of facing liverpool, nothing beats an away, local game

Plus the fact that we are always rubbish on TV. We do have the best home record in the division this season though, rather oddly given how disappointing we've been. Cliche lovers would say it all counts for nothing in the cup anyway.
It certainly is good money for clubs like ours though pal. I've read elsewhere that we'll both get £34,000 for the replay being on telly. The winners will get £27,000 prize money and then a further £135,000 for being on telly in the third round. That's huge.
Did you manage to get your tickets?

Re: FA Cup 3rd round Draw 2012/13
i went last night, and we were very very poor. pretty decent on the ball, but awful in the final third. ive also read we receive 34k for the replay. ive estimated itll be about 400k overall when taking everything into account, for the winners of the replay. tickets go on general sale on thursday morning. however im struggling to get people to come, and last night was quite frankly, awful! Mills missed a header from about 5 yards btw. he only needed it to brush him and it would of gone in, instead he thumped it over the bar
but anyway, as you say, its a huge financial reward for the winners next wednesday

Big game tonight pal. Unfortunately the time difference is too much for me so I'll just be checking the result in the morning but I hope you enjoy the match, hope it's contested and decided fairly and may the best team win!
Good luck mate.

I'm actually happy Leyton Orient won their tie against Alfreton because although I love the non-league sides having a good run, I expect Hull, like most teams would, would take the match too lightly and an upset would very well be on the cards.
Can't moan about a home tie with Leyton.

Hastings will be carrying the Sussex flag with them with pride.
Funny enough, i actually saw them take on fellow sussex side Lewes on New Years Day. They looked very dodgy at the back but they do have a great winger in Bradley Goldburg so he could be a man to watch on the day.

Re: FA Cup 3rd round Draw 2012/13
Our manager doing his best to get his big face in the papers this weekend.
And succeeding obviously.
Mansfield Town manager Paul Cox will begin the biggest weekend of his life on Friday by marrying his girlfriend at the club’s training ground.
Cox’s team from the Blue Square Premier host giants Liverpool at the One Call Stadium on Sunday in one of the ties of the FA Cup third round.
But Cox will begin the weekend by marrying his girlfriend on the training ground next to the stadium after honouring a promise he made to her ahead of the club’s replay with Lincoln in the previous round.
Having drawn 3-3 at Sincil Bank in the first game, Cox told his partner he would marry her if Mansfield went through and, after a 2-1 win clinched a meeting with Brendan Rodgers’ team, he will keep his word tomorrow when the couple tie the knot in a specially erected marquee.
A Mansfield source said: 'It’s going to be a big three days for Paul.
'He gets married on Friday and then it’s Liverpool on the day of his 41st birthday on Sunday.'
Mansfield are currently ninth in the Blue Square after losing out in the promotion play-offs last season.
The club applied for permission to use their full capacity to 10,000 for Sunday’s game but their request was rejected on safety grounds. There will be only 7,500 fans in the stadium, meaning that club will lose in the region of £50,000 in possible takings.

Looking forward to seeing a few of our younger lads but Im a little nervous, remember Gareth Southgate bringing down a Postman last time we had a game like this to bring us back for a replay haha

I subjected myself to 20mins or so of football and I deduce that Newcastle have several young players who appear to earn or to have already earned enough money playing for the reserves to not give a rats behind about making a success of their football career. Not a criticism of them so much as the mug/mugs that were willing to pay them. Ergo the fans.
I also saw the Brighton player rolling over and over clutching his thigh having been tapped on the foot.
No doubt he'll trot out the trite line about "Never liking to see a fellow professional being sent off"
Football is w@nk.

1am the bus left Newcastle this morning to watch that. Truly shocking. Williamson is a disgrace, club is in serious situation and until Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Steven Taylor, Ryan Taylor, Coloccini, Debuchy, Tiote, Gutierrez (to an extent) & Cisse return to the line up altogther then there is no hope.

Bar Peterborough having a chance in the first 5 minutes they've hardly had the ball near our area.
They haven't really turned up and we're making it look easy. Only thing that's gonna stop us winning this is if we get complacent

Crawley Town scored after 14 seconds against Reading but fair play to Reading, they got stuck in and deserved the win, even if their 3rd in the 3-1 win was from a penalty that was given despite the Crawley defender cleanly winning the ball!
Still, Crawley's last three seasons in the FA Cup: 5th round, 5th round, 3rd round. Considering the only other time we've ever made Round 3 was 1992, it shows how far we've come.

Really well played to Hastings today. Really refreshing to see a non league side come and play proper football, no long ball nonsense. We were comfortable throughout but a few of the fringe players really didnt make a case to start against Watford on Saturday, Miller was just hopeless

It's a myth that conference football is long ball football these days. I go and watch Wrexham a fair bit due to my dad being a season ticket holder and some of the teams get the ball down play some very good football.
