Interesting stuff, Liam.
Thanks for taking the trouble to collate all the information. It's especially beneficial to old dogs like me who don't know the modern game as well as we know the old timers. I know at least one other member here who, like me, relies on you fellas to sort out the labyrinth of the modern game for us, and in particular the domestic scene.
See, you CAN teach an old dog new tricks.

Good job. Bit surprised Munroe only comes in at 11 tbh.
Also what happened to kevin Mitchell?? Everyone forget him?

Well done liam, good strong list there. Quite a young one too, I guess we need to watch this space
I think Mitchell's inactivity and the nature of his loss ruled him out for most people. I think if you can make an argument for Floyd being left out of the p4p rankings due to inactivity, you certainly can for Kevin Mitchell.

Good points - assume if he beats Murray he will sneak back in there!

If he beats Murray he'll be in title contention again and will probably be top 8 in the british rankings one fight can change everything.

Good work Liam.
On talent alone I think Degale should be in the top 5. It's written in the stars for him.

Good work counting up the votes, mate. Surprised (but at the same time pleased) that Rhodes features so highly. As someone who rates him higher than a lot of others seem to (his win over Moore was better than anything some of the more hyped top ten men have on their records) I'm also glad that he'll be getting his shot at Alvarez soon, which is far more deserved than Hatton's was.

Overall a good list, my only slight complaint would be that Kell Brook is too high for my liking. Seriously needs to up his level of opposition before I'd have him in there. Nice work though.

Re: 606v2s Official British rankings:The results!
We could find ourselves with anywhere between none and 7/8 world champions by the end of the year depending on how certain fights go
Haye vs Klitschko
Froch vs Johnson and Ward
Khan vs Bradley
Cleverley vs Braehmer
Burns vs Fana
Rhodes vs Alvarez
Macklin vs Sturm
Degale vs Stieglitz
All potential fights this year and with the exception of Haye, I have the british fighters as favourites
Without mentiong Mitchell/Murray, Munroe, Brook, Groves and Barker who are all very much looking at title challenges in the not too distant future

with price, chisora, towers and fury the heavyweight division looks promising, although i think it will be at least 2 years (if ever) before any of these have a top 5 claim

I didn't include the heavyweight lot because I feel they're going to have to rely on the K Bros and Haye retiring before they can even think about winning a title

yeah agreeded- i think both haye and vitali will have left the sport by the end of this year. wlad probably will be about a year after- unless theres a shift in the heavyweight division and it all of a sudden becomes more competitive

Re: 606v2s Official British rankings:The results!
Very harsh in my opinion not having Kevin Mitchell in the list let alone not in the top 16, Matthew Hatton's a bum who aint in the same league he's been schooled at domestic level, Mitchell has lost 1 fight, he's still up there, also baffled to see Rhodes so high
my personal view
1.Carl Froch
2.David Haye
3.Amir Khan
4.Ricky Burns
5.Rendall Munroe
6.Nathan Cleverly
7.Darren Barker
8.Kevin Mitchell

On what basis are 5-10 above Rhodes?

Re: 606v2s Official British rankings:The results!
5 Rendall Munroe, won and defended the european title against some dangerous fighters in Martinez, Maludrottu, destroyed the good Terrazas went to Japan to face the #1 at SB and gave it a real go, Rhodes was destroyed in world level fights.
6 Nathan Cleverly, all round much better than Rhodes imo, will beat Braemer, has beaten some good fighters already.
7 Darren Barker, again, all round better fighter imo, will beat Spada then go on to fight at world level imo
8 Kevin Mitchell, quality fighter still imo, he will also destroy Murray in my view, then could win a world title, also leagues above Rhodes
9 Matthew Macklin, will find out just how good he could be when he fights Sturm, but he is better than Rhodes, has won and defended the European title
10 James DeGale, again, leagues above Rhodes in every dept.... i'd have him higher if he was a euro champ, genuine quality, dont like him though!
Rhodes hasnt boxed at world level for years, when he did he was brutally exposed, i dont rate the guy, i'll be honest

@prettyboy
...................
Munroe lost to the number 1 at sb, lets be honest if he'd fought Molitor we would be sat here talking about an IBF world champ, he has beat the better opponents, Martinez twice, Terrazas, good show against Nishioka is better, also defending the European title 5 times better than 2 decent wins (Murat, McIntosh)

Re: 606v2s Official British rankings:The results!
Sorry but Jamie Moore was a far better opponent than either Martinez or Terrazas with the latter being a relative nobody, not ranked anywhere near the top twenty in the division.

Re: 606v2s Official British rankings:The results!
Never been that impressed with Munroe imo European level is about right for him. He was brave against Nishioka but well out of his depths. Wouldn't have picked him to beat Molitor either.
IMO Cleverly is good enough to beat Braehmer but not the top guys at LHW. Bhop, Cloud and Dawson beat him would say it would be a 50/50 with Pascal think he's the weakest out the top 4.
Just suprised to see Munroe that highly rated.

You're welcome, WrightHook.
Joking apart, I am very impressed. As I remarked earlier in the thread, I find the modern domestic situation pretty baffling, there being so many weight classes and sanctioning bodies. You fellas help me to make sense of it all, so hats off to you for that.

Re: 606v2s Official British rankings:The results!
I'm more familiar with the modern domestic scene than I am with the old school fighters, but that's only because I have only really gotten into boxing heavily other the last 3 years.
When it comes to knowledge about fighters before the Duran/SRR/Hearns/Hagler era I don't have a clue, which is why the thread regarding ATG P4P top 10 and other similar threads help to shed light on the older days for 'newcomers' to boxing like myself.
As for the sanctioning bodies, don't get me started!
