Adam Booth Takes on Andy Lee
Booth has decided to train Andy Lee alongside Groves and Haye.
He talks a bit about in this hilarious interview with Kugan Cassius:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-wKgtthEGtU&list=UUdl_gZZR6BtKi45eHFGAduw&index=9
Those two should have there own show.
So how do you think this will help him? Or is Bootg a bad fit?

Re: Adam Booth Takes on Andy Lee
I like Adam Booth. He rubs a lot of people up the wrong way, but I think he is a breath of fresh air most of the time. He doesn't walk around talking in tedious clichés all the time like many other trainers, promoters and fighters seem to do.
I do wonder if much of the dislike for Booth stems from the Haye association, who lets face it, is a monumental knob.
I doubt he will turn Andy Lee into Sugar Ray Robinson as Lee has probably reached his level already, but some fresh ideas should always be welcome. I really enjoyed the piece Booth did on Ringside when he explained the strategy for beating DeGale.

Ah yes, the "blender" talk. Was very insightful in fairness.

Re: Adam Booth Takes on Andy Lee
Guess it can't hurt, there's hardly a British Trainer who is head and shoulders above the rest so whoever he chooses will have pro's and cons
I dont like the style that haye and Groves have although it has proven to be pretty effective. The style is cagey, requires speed and can be outoworked. Booth is trying too make Groves like haye and I don't think they are playing to groves strengths as Groves has a good engine and a good jab
Lee won't be able to fight that way, he is upright, likes to go to war and is vulnerable to pressure. Booth will have to train him a lot differently than he does to the other 2 and I'm sure he will like the challenge
Big domestic clashes open to Lee like Barker, Macklin and Murray as well as Billy Joe Saunders

Aye, got to hand it to Booth. Not everyone's cup of tea as a personality but he's a very good reader of the game and clearly knows what he's doing when it comes to working a corner.
I think we've just become accustomed in Britain over the years to seeing the likes of Brendan Ingle, Billy Nelson, Joe Gallagher, Mickey Duff, George Franics etc, all of whom shared similarties as trainers / managers; tracksuit-clad, unmistakably working class and humble. Booth probably unsettles a few people because he's just different from this sort of cornerman. He's a bit more flashy, isn't averse to a bit of pre-fight smack talking and seems to discard a lot of the old techniques and clichés which most trainers would consider indispensable.
I think it's his obvious and loud confidence in himself, which pretty much oozes out of him if we're being honest, that unsettles people in some way, shape or form most of the time.

Gallagher wouldn't look out of place on the set of shameless...
If you're rich you can afford a razor. Surely...
Is Booth upper/middle class?

That video interview is hilariously funny, just made me like Adam Booth even more. These two could get their own show.

No chance. There is no way we would let him in our village Rotary club.

Is that restricted to the posh city boys like yourself in 800 Hugo Boss suits? Second thoughts Hugo might be a bit chavy.

I have an image of Tina wearing Barbour with an Ascot tie. In that image he looks like a young Nigel Havers.

I thought he might have had a small hand in it.
Anyhow, the Beadle honour belongs to me. Or so my mates said last year when I sported a goaty for a few months.

No excuse for that, Chris. Unless some dolly bird with a magnificent rack requested that you grow it.

I didn't know Adam Booth had worked as a 'health consultant' for Kylie Minogue? I wonder if he did any pad work with her?

Yep, but that's pretty much akin to Man United shipping out all of their first team squad and replacing them with the players of Basildon Athletic, while still using the name of Man United.
All style, no substance!

Re: Adam Booth Takes on Andy Lee
i like booth and always have, im always fond of trainers who actually give techincal advice between rounds instead of cheerleading. i read hayes book (dont recommend it) and was suprised to read how little haye listened to him sometimes in camp, but groves seems different and is doing well with him, he makes him fight similair to haye but not to much and it works.
lee should do well with him, he seems the hardworking type

Plenty of substance from what I've seen, Chris.
I tried to pull one of them last time I was in Nottingham, what with the relationship postcode rule being in force. Didn't manage to pull it off mind, waste of 90 minutes, then I had to watch Newcastle play.
