Round Six Berto v Ortiz and Boxing in 2011
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AeePtQX3grs&feature=related
Hey fellas,
been a while and havent had chance to post since this classic fight
Listen to Emmanuel Steward shout 'Oh my god' at the second knockdown, amazing.
Only sad thing is larry Merchant seems pretty bad now, his post fight interviews are really bad now
Just re watched round six again, what a round and what a couple of fights we have had in the last month from Morales V Maidana Juanma v Salid and and this one
Long may this array of great fight s continue with Bhop v Pascal 2
groves, Degale, Clev and on and on
Also i am loving th eupset factor in all three fights,
Morales over performing
Juanma being blown away
And Ortiz who i once myself said would never recover from his no mas at the highest level looking to do just that and doing it against Berto
Viva la Boxing
What you guys looking forward too
Anyone got some brave predicitons in light of these upsets?

IMO Ortiz is a different fighter at 147, he must have been killing himself to make 140. I wouldn't mind seeing him in with Mayweather.

i like ortiz and the bog fights too, but i think he deserves a easier fight than mayweather first, maybe a mike jones or some other contender, then rematch berto as it was such a good fight, dont see maywweather in with him or anyone else soon

Was really looking forward to Gamboa vs Lopez but that's been put off for a while. Murray vs Mitchell could be a cracker. Domestically boxing is doing good plenty of good fights out their.

Looking forward to it. Would like to see Frankie Gavin take on Lenny Daws think he would take him apart after about 6 rounds but Daws would be a decent matchup for him then McCloskey.

i don't think Frankie or Warren are sure which weight division he's going to campaign at. Gavin said he feels better at WW. He would pick daws apart pretty easily. He's in a title fight on cleverly undercard which he should win. I would put him against theoplane after daws as I think Ashley will be struggling to get the big fights he wants and will eventually cave in and fight gavin.
Jason cook was touted as a possible opponent for gavin a while back which would be a hard challenge. I think a McCloskey fight could be made by late 2011. He is a future champion no doubt but I think he would be better suited at WW.

I don't see the point in Gavin hanging around to long at domestic level like DeGold he is a special talent and won't benefit from hanging about at a level below him for to long. Should be going for European title by the end of this year.
Gavin would pick apart McCloskey for fun such an accurate puncher would just pot shot him then finish him off.

Gavins next fight has been announced and its against Young Mutley .Hopefully after the fight Warren gets him in with British champion Ashley Theopane before moving onto european level.
Re: Round Six Berto v Ortiz and Boxing in 2011
He can't do with Gavin what he did with Brook Gavin has lost a year already he needs to be rushed along a bit.

Warren wasn't doing anything with Brook.Brooks best decision was to join Barry Hearn promotions.
Anyone think Khan vs Gavin in a few years time maybe?

Re: Round Six Berto v Ortiz and Boxing in 2011
Think Brook vs Khan is more likely in a couple of years. Matchroom say his next fight will be against a big name. This name will be old and over the hill but good exposure for Brook. Then hopefully the Mike Jones fight.

At least he will fight someone with world level experience. The Mike Jones fight then hopefully a world title fight if he gets through Mike Jones.
Re: Round Six Berto v Ortiz and Boxing in 2011
I think he beats Jones I've always liked Brook the stories about him not putting the work in the gym is worrying. Might be down to the fact he is bored and going stale at the level he has been stuck at.

The fight against Mike Jones will show us how good he actually is.He'll certainly have too put work in at the gym for that fight.
Re: Round Six Berto v Ortiz and Boxing in 2011
Cant see him fighting Mike Jones due to not being with WBO insider Warren anymore.

Re: Round Six Berto v Ortiz and Boxing in 2011
Round 6 was a great round, but after round 8 or 9 the fight pretty much died into a holdfest.
Katsidis vs Guerrero was a better all round fight imho, it had everything. I'm still laughing at that crazy ref, hope he's not sacked for his inept performance so i can enjoy his comedy show once more.

You're probably right mate don't know how matchroom will play it. Eddie Hearn said Golden Boy have showed an interest in Kell so if they could put him on the undercard of some of their big shows that might be the route to go down.
