Gaming Laptop.
Thinking of trading the playstation in for a gaming laptop but I have no idea where to start. Have been told to stay away from Alienware but wondered if anyone on here had any suggestions?

Try somewhere like cyberpowersystem.co.uk or Meshcomputers.com if you fancy choosing the components you want.
If you want to buy the components and put it together yourself then you might have to shop around as I've yet to find a UK site that compares to NewEgg. Though you could try some of the following.
Scan.co.uk
Misco.co.uk
Overclockers.co.uk

You can buy 606v2 off us for that
I don't know much about what you are asking to buy but surely £1200 for any type of computer is a lot?
Re: Gaming Laptop.
Worked out last night for a decent set up from scan it would be about £900. May seem expensive but they have longer lives than normal consoles.

I do quite a lot of on-line gaming plus the desire to play single player games on hi-settings so I'm willing to pay for something that's top of the range and will last me.
If cash ain't a issue and you want to build something really top of the range with all the bells and whistles you can spend around £4k

Re: Gaming Laptop.
Personally I prefer desktops as you get more bang for your buck, due to laptop components being overpriced.
Still that's a nice setup for a laptop

Re: Gaming Laptop.
If you go for a desktop, don't get blinded buy the top spec i7 processors unless you are big into photoshoping because of the hperthreading. Get a ivy bridge i5 3570 unlocked or already overclocked to 4.5 ghz, for gaming this chip linked with something like a Radeon Hd 7870 will let you play most games on ultra settings.
If you do go for a laptop be carfull of the chip you pick on it to because a lot of the time it wont be quad core like it's desktop counterpart, and will only be dual.

What games are you looking to play on it? And you'd need some pretty decent headphones too.

Yeah its pretty much the exact same reason I didn't take the i7. I'm currently running an i5 2500 with 2xRadeon HD 6900's but my comps just over a year old now.

Re: Gaming Laptop.
I took the i5 3570 but coupled it with the geforce 560ti, wish i had took the Radeon Hd 7870 now, the perfomance is better. I've had mine about 8 months.
With list of games coming in 2013 i think only Crysis 3 and the metro will push any mid range pc's.

Re: Gaming Laptop.
I spent a lot of time surveying the gfx cards in terms of performance especially for a dual card setup like I wanted. Every time the Radeon was coming out on top at the time I was looking especially at the price.
Then again I invested huge amounts of time looking at every component going into my desktop to make sure I was getting the best performance against price for the £1600-£2000 I had to spend at the time.
