This award no sense makes.
I think a lot of people misunderstood AWOP. He contributed a lot more to this forum than just Wums.

The thing is Glas, he would start off on the wheat, but because people just attacked him as soon as they saw the name AWOP, he would feed them back a bit of chaff.
I must say AWOP and I exchanged a number of PMs on varying aspects of rugby, and in these discussions he was always very respectful to me and held a good insight into the game.

Re: WUM of the Year Award
Good evening sports fans.
This will be my one and only post. I am just here to relay to you some information about your previous poster AWOP who you have honoured by the award for best foreign contribution on this awards ceremony.
I am sure he would be grateful to be honoured in this way but I am unfortunate to relay to you also the information that AWOP is no longer with us. He unfortunately met his end to a London bus that was running unsuspectedly on time as he tried to make a post to a forum whilst shopping.
I think he met the end in a way he would be happy, contributing to a discussion he was passionate about: should Wales be wound up and only used for paintball tournaments. Which if you search I am sure you can find the lively discussion.
I am sure we are all poorer for his passing and if you honour his spirit then please add your weight to the campaign to replace Oxford street busses with trolley cars.
Now please all continue to enjoy your debates and know that somewhere up in the other world, AWOP is looking down and probably disagreeing vehemently with you!
Take care.

Re: WUM of the Year Award
Yes, it has been of the gravest concern, the standard of public transport in Oxford Street, this was recently raised by all members of the All Blacks squad as they did their Christmas shopping at Oxford St, which is by the way the only reason they travel to the Northern Hemisphere every November. They said it was very dangerous and it beggars belief that more people dont get hit by the buses and killed.
Thanks Pantomime for bringing us up to date on AWOP's passing. Every pantomime needs a villian, just imagine :
New Zealand without a George Wilder.
Australia without a Ned Kelly.
England without a Robin Hood.
OR a V2 without a AWOP????

Re: WUM of the Year Award
Thnkyou for your kind reply. He mentioned your kind support during a distraught week of being banned and unable to share his views and I know it meant a lot to him. He also mentioned that he saw the New Zealand team eating at the dodgy kebab vendor next to the ethnic bag shop and the AIG office and wondered if that was wise mid week before the last game of the season.
Take care,

rainbow-warrior it is in poor taste to speak ill off the departed, and it causes me and my family great trauma to see you appear so unnecessarily and react so disgracefully at such new. I had heard that this place was full of such distasteful and venomous trolls but I didn't quite believe it until I have now witnessed it myself.
And so I must take my leave of you here.

I am happy to say that mostly the gifts found their way to Their beneficiaries. The orphans didn't go without and the sick an elderly that AWOP dedicated his life to also were receiving. Unfortunately one gift went astray, a gold watch intended for someone called "G.C." is still in our possession. I guess one person was disappointed, let down and probably angry. I hope their were no repercussions.

This is just another example of how sensitive and understanding a person AWOP was, it was either a gift in recognition of George Carlin's victory as the positive contributor on 606 for 2012, or could it be a christmas gift for George Clancy in anticipation of him refereeing the ABs in 2013.

Yes, it's a big hammer blow to us all and we all thank you for the condolences offered here. It is some small light to know that AWOP was so respected and his efforts to express himself on behalf of all multi-ethnicity persons was so well received. It speaks volumes for the kindness and acceptance of both the rugby culture and the people of Britain and Ireland (and one from Argentina and a couple from Australia and one from south Africa and some from New Zealand, apparently) that he was able to make himself at home here. So thank you to all for you kindnesses and patience.

Yes blah blah etc etc. He was a grey ghost before he was awop. I was astounded by his ability to swing from pretending to be a person learning the english language to someone with the ability to use said language without fault...odd aye

Odd aye, as is the leniency towards the Ghost's latest reincarnation. I wonder if the same generosity would be afforded to the likes of Western Osprey etc?

Frankly if the mods haven't learned from their mistakes with AWOP/GG and this thread intimates clearly they haven't then they cant come whining what a hard time they are having moderating the same people under different guises. It doesn't surprise me, the mods don't demonstrate much of a capacity for intelligent thought for the wishes of the majority of the community. Its one of the reasons so many of the community have left for other sites over the last twelve months.

"The Mods" weren't complaining. As for intelligent thought, that is a matter of opinion. You don't know what is happening behind the scenes so don't assume anyhting.
