The Vale Resort Glamorgan
Morning,
Right, have just booked up for a 2 day break in the Vale. 2 rounds of golf, one Friday (the lakes) and one Saturday (National Corse), one night in the 4* hotel, breakfast and 3 course meal on Fri night for £138 each person. There are 12 of us going.
Not played this year so any advise people can give me on both courses it would be appreciated. Need to start winning money back off my mates.

Watch out for Andy Powell and his golf cart is my only advice!
Lovely surroundings - been to the hotel a few times but never played the course though - yes this comment is pretty useless!

I've been there to stay a few times and only played the lakes course, which was a few years ago. Good hotel etc, and hear that the National course is the place to be. The lakes has some fine holes but some mishy mashy ones too. A good starting hole par 3 and a great closing hole over the water, I also remember one great par 3 from an elevated tee, but plenty of up and down holes and one pointless par 4 which is a 3-wood and then a lob wedge at 90 degrees left over water. Good driving range though

Cheers Doc,
Hoping for the weather to keep up, as the Lakes course sounds like it could be a wet one if we get the rain. Will up date with scores and my thoughts.

The National is a decent course with some v good holes, the 18th must be worst finishing hole in golf though, dreadful and one of the back 9 has a ridiculous green with a massive hump in it. Never stayed in the hotel or played the lakes though.
Decent price for the weekend though
