That Wells kid is earning himself a look from a few sides in League 1 and the Championship with his performance against Arsenal and tonight so far!

Paul Scholes is sensationally transfer listed by Deportivo My Sharona. Sharona manager Marky has stated he wants to go in a different direction with his side and claims "Scholesy is a great player, perfect for ball retention, but I need my midfielders to be more like Hope Akpan, and Scholes isn't tall, black or 21." Marky is understood to be willing to accept the highest cash bid to allow Scholes to leave.

There's no backtracking now, the Ginger one is hurt that you blanked him.

On other news anyone see what Sturridge has said since his move:

"In the Premier League, there is no bigger club than Liverpool."

Was part of the transfer the ability to time travel back to the 80s?

Fan, I bet you thought you'd win the first leg. And if you didn't, you're no Villa 'Fan'.

Love seeing the Midlands clubs in disarray. Villa battling relegation and being beaten by a League Two side, Wolves near relegation in the Championship and with their second manager of the season, Blues in financial ruin...we know what we are, we know what we arrrrrrrrrrrre, pride of the midlands, we know what we are Euro Division Homepage XLV - Page 9 3559488474

yes i did expect Villa to win the 1st leg, very least a draw, didnt expect that at all.

Will hopefully have a couple of new faces in very soon, otherwise Villa have a very good chance of going down, a VERY good chance

Fan you're in a tough spot. Randy doesn't have the cash, somehow your wage bill is still way too high, and your squad depth is next to zero. The only way out is to sell Bent and invest in, say, Gallas and Huddlestone.

Soddy, that is a big achievement. Think of the struggles that special needs kid has been through to get as far as he has. He deserves a sticker and a lollipop for his hard work.

He sold the Cleveland Browns for £600m to add to his personal fortune of £800m - would hate to be in his shoes if he has no money

He's publicly stated several times that he won't be putting the money in due to the cost of running the club - he's not interested in winning trophies, he wants to run a business and make a profit. He's American, has no interest in soccer. Look at what's happened since he took over: big splurge of cash at the start, financial ruin after.

If he was so keen on Villa, he'd spend £200m of his fortune on players. He hasn't, he won't, so he isn't.

Today's G.O.A.T vote is damn tricky. I could make a case to myself to go for any of the four of those listed.

I'm one of those who considers Zidane as among the very greatest to have ever played the game. Bradman speaks for himself. Navratilova won everything for a long time. Harry Greb is widely considered one of the most fearless and fearsome fighters of all time. I'm stuck...

Fan there is no money to spend. If there was, Villa would be being linked with players. You're not after anyone of a sufficient calibre to get you up the table a bit.

What I'm saying is that Lerner spent money when he bought the club, and has sat back ever since thinking 'why am I wasting my money?'

The total lack of activity in the transfer market over the last 18 months is proof of this. Apart from Benteke, no-one you've bought has stood up to the rigours of the Premier League. You need to spend big, but the owner won't.

I can see us bringing in 2 players this month, a striker definately, and maybe another CB or CM.

Olly - they're not bad players. They just can't perform week in, week out. Glimpses of talent and the odd good game isn't going to save Villa's season.

Fan - teams with money get linked with players. Arsenal. United. QPR. Even Albion have been linked with players this window. Who are Villa after? Deny it all you want, the media make rumours based on who has the cash. And Villa have no intention of spending the £30m or whatever needed to keep you in the Prem. Plugging the gaps with a £3m player here or a £2.5m player there simply won't work, Lambert did that last summer and look where it's got him. You need experienced players on good wages, not young talent trying to get used to the game.

Lescott we all know wouldn't happen, and Coutinho must be a laugh from someone looking to get his name mentioned at any cost. No way could you afford him.

Villa WILL buy 2/3 players, they just won't be the guys that you desperately need. You need a younger Shay Given, a younger Richard Dunne, a dynamic DM, and a good winger. And Barry Bannan to be taken out to pasture and shot.

Villa need an experienced CM just to control the game sometimes. Also they are missing Vlaar who was the leader of the defence.

The loss of Petrov cannot be understated for Villa this season. Guzan is doing a very good job in goal for them to be fair.

Need to get rid of N'Zogbia asap. He is awful

Vlaar was good, but I hope Villa don't rush him back. Imagine him going down with injury on 1 Feb after the window closes!

Petrov has been Villa's biggest loss, he'd turned into a fine player.

I've not been impressed with Guzan though, he's like Friedel, capable of great saves but lacking the desire tor eally take control of the box.

Agreed on Insomnia, he needs to go.

Weimann - Benteke - Gabby

given a run of games together would be a handful for most teams its not the forward line its the defence that needs work, christ I would even put Dunne back in when he gets fit

Vlaar has been a huge miss but we def need another CB and stick Clark to LB

Lowton-Vlaar-Lescott-Clark would be good imo

And lescott born and bred Villa fan and may be willing to drop his wage demands for 1st team football, and lets face it he will have to take a cut where evre he goes, if he goes..

Other than that I would go for Heitinga, a very under rated CB imo

I think Villa will stay up. Sure they're going through a bad patch at the moment but everyone does at certain points in the season. Reading, QPR, Wigan and Southampton will all finish below them imo.

Hoping we can get back to winning ways against Newcastle this weekend. And then it's Liverpool away which I will be going too!! Smile Coaches leave at 7am which means we will have to be there for 6:15-6:30! Man that's gonna be a long day!
