Wasps v Bath
Decent game
Wade just scored another excellent try...if hes not in the EPS ill be amazed.
Interestingly...Banahan looking very good at 13,
And that Wasps back row is a BIG unit...

Wasps look second best in the scrums. Do Bath have a big front-row?
This is a good Wasps team. I'd be surprised if they aren't back with the ellite in the next years Premiership.

Although wades try was brilliant, it was down to some awful defending by Donald. Just a simple step inside, but Donald wen high and got bounced. Similar to Eastmonds try in the reverse game. Wade has been ok today, but his defence has Been shown up again to not be upto scratch, kicking game in particular been average, he nearly missed the entire ball on one occasion!
Daly on the other had has been outstanding!

That sounds like sour grapes, sorry
Wasps were brilliant in second half today, fully deserved. Huge performances from daly luanchbury and most of ther pack to be honest.

They are 4th in the league in the 13th week of the season , surely that means they are back in the elite ?

There was an article in the Sunday Herald today saying Hugo Southwell may be back in the reckoning for the 6 Ns. Please tell me this is not the case as he must be the stupidest rugby player in the NH

I was making dinner during the game so I missed bits of it, but I don't remember Wade's defence being shown up today. I can't think of any missed tackles (although I missed Bath's second try) and he did well when he came up against Banahan in one particular instance that I can remember (I thought he might get bulldozed before the game). I thought his positioning was improved from other games I've seen him play in too.
Similarly with the kicking. I only saw him kick the ball twice, once where he created space for himself to get away from Biggs and punted a good distance down field. The other was when he was facing his own like under extreme pressure from Bath defenders, where I thought he did well to get it away at all.

Donald has an open-door defense policy, Wade did well to finish the move, but Biggs came out of the line too early and my mom could have bounced Donald off.
Wasps were very impressive today and just blew Bath away after the first 30 minutes, it doesn't take long to suss out Bath's gameplan, there isn't one. But all credit to Wasps, they're back and aren't in the top 4 by mistake.

Young is doing some brilliant work at Wasps especially in the pack. Theyve managed to build a monstrous backrow with some athletic locks that supply a lot of good ball to possibly the fastest backline the Prem has ever seen.
Only weakness seems to be the scrum and defence in the back three.
Looking forward to seeing them in the Heiny next season

I don't know where to start with this comment.
Well perhaps I do. 21st is a Glasgow fan with an inbred hatred of all things Edinburgh. Given that 'Shug' played 6-7 years for Edinburgh has probably prompted this unwarranted comment towards a wholehearted player, who rarely makes a mistake in a Wasps shirt and, I would warrant, is a better bloke than the poster will ever be.
Anyone around Wasps will testify what a fantastic guy Shug is. The fans who travelled to Mogliano in October will never forget how he came round and shook the hand of every one of us who were still at the ground after the team formalities were finished (quite a lot).

Southwell is the rock in that back 3 that would otherwise be even more flimsy defensively without him, hes a great compliment to varndell & wade.
The wasps backrow really came into their own, such a powerful combination, Vunipola is only going to get better. He could do with a stalwart 8 (Dallaglio?) to help bring him along with his control and handling but hes still so young!
Launchberry's lungs must each be the size of a fully grown man.
What a transformation over the last few years, i do have a bit of a soft spot for wasps.
Oh, and can we have Dai Young back at the blues after you're done with him?

Johnson was a clever signing. He was under the radar back in SA but still a very good player and I believe he was captain of his team? He must have came at a reasonable price.
Considering Launchberry's size I would say he has lungs bigger than most men.
RE Southwell. He would fit into the Scotland team well now that they have a pack that can turn anyone over and better attacking wingers.

Morg, fully agreed with Johnson, I was surprised theyd signed him when he originally came over to be honest. I always thought 1 of the other SA provinces would have snapped him up even at his age, he was a very good player for the Cheetahs.
A scottish back 3 of Maitland/Southwell/Visser wouldnt be too bad at all.

Having got through a prodigious amount of work (as per usual), Launchbury wasn't even blowing in the last few minutes. He has an incredible engine.
With Shug there was one incident in the game that may not have been caught on TV. Shug kicked downfield from an unpromising position and he told Wade to hold back. Sure enough Bath kicked back straight to Wade, who made good ground and recycled to set up another attack.
Shug still has plenty of nous and marshals Varndell, Wade and Daly (all very quick) superbly.
