Audley battles on...
Former Prizefighter champs Audley Harrison and Martin Rogan are two of the first names in a star-studded line-up for the Betfair Prizefighter International Heavyweights III live on Sky Sports from the York Hall in Bethnal Green on February 23.
The pair are joined by American Travis Walker and Brixton’s Ian Lewison on a huge night for British boxing, as Olympic captain Tom Stalker makes his professional debut before his new stablemate Kell Brook fights for a his first World title in America.
Rogan returns to Prizefighter for the 29th edition, nearly five years after he won the first ever Prizefighter in the famous east London home of boxing while Harrison credits Prizefighter for reigniting his career after he claimed the trophy in October 2009 to pave the way for his World title clash with David Haye.
The night represents a huge chance for 31 year old Lewison (6-1-1) to make a name for himself in the British heavyweight scene. KO king Walker hopes to reach 51 professional fights on the night and take the title back to Houston, Texas – and with 31 KOs from 39 wins, the 33 year old promises an all-action night.
Matchroom Sport announced the signing of Stalker at a press conference in Liverpool yesterday and the 28 year old will begin his professional journey at York Hall in front of the Sky cameras.
“The heavyweights edition of Betfair Prizefighter is always the most popular and with these colourful characters and former champions we are expecting an instant sell out at York Hall,” said promoter Eddie Hearn. “I'm also delighted that the GB Olympic captain will make his professional debut on the show and will be live on Sky Sports.”

Presumably the stars that will stud this line-up are yet to be announced.

Re: Audley battles on...
Audley is no doubt super confident, in the best shape of his 'career', has learnt from his mistakes... Etc. etc. etc.
If he wins this he can fulfil his destiny of becoming a true world champion and have a lasting legacy...
Turn it in son... Your career was over 6 years ago...
The Price knockout was brutal and I don't think he should be allowed anywhere near a ring again... Not even for prizefighter!

Can't say I'm surprised by this, unfortunately. I actually wouldn't be surprised if Audley gets his clock well and truly cleaned even in this reduced format now. Not even you could bet on him this time, surely Union!?
I'll prepare my cringeometer in advance of Audley's interviews.

Prizefighter loses more of it's shine...
What on EARTH can Audley achieve by being involved in yet another Prizefighter? Where can he go??
Rather than use Prizefighter as a stepping stone for Novice Pro's or ex-Amateurs to get a spot on TV, it's being used as a freakshow.
I don't wish anyone harm in the ring, but if Audley does well (and I'm praying he's out in the first round), then I sense another "comeback story"... who knows how that chapter will end. I mean does he really need a Timpson-made tin trophy to feed his ego or another £25k and a book voucher?
The man is a wart on the sport.

Re: Audley battles on...
Like School Project, I dislike the way Prize Fighter has gradually turned from a fresh, interesting idea which gave young up and comers a chance to make a name for themselves in to a last chance saloon for fallen 'idols' who are just plodding on because they have nothing better to do on a weekend these days.
Get the young'uns in, not these recycled clichés.

The recycled cliches sell tickets, the young uns don't. A real shame that, as I do agree with the point you are making.

The fact that you can add 3-0 to your record for one night's work (most of which involves waiting around) means it is always going to appeal to the big name has beens.

As always I think people will tune in to see Audley flattened but he probably stink the place out as usual. Hes such a glutton for punishment and ridicule. He cant need the 30k the winner would get. He would make more being one of those clowns in a fair that are suspended above a tank of water and people pay to throw stuff at a lever to see him fall in.

Audley Harrison will return to the ring in the Prizefighter competition at York Hall, Bethnal Green, on 23 February.
Olympic gold medallist Harrison, 41, was knocked out inside 82 seconds by David Price in his last fight, but said he did not want to retire from boxing.
Former Commonwealth champion Martin Rogan, 41, will also compete in the eight-man knockout tournament.
