Tactics

- Play our usual high tempo style. Big carriers running off 9/10/12 getting over the gainline, quick recycling allowing Care and Hook to attack the back tracking defence. Plenty of offloading with the back three joining the line in support.

- Blitz defence with Care sweeping. Two of the back three sitting deep ready to counter attack of loose kicks. Only committing to the breakdown when the opposition carrier is isolated prefering to fan out and strengthen the defensive line.

- Fantastic momentum with 7 wins for 7. Massive impact off the bench. We won't be letting up with the tempo and are playing for a big win looking to take a top seeding for the knockout stages.

Key Points

We want tries in this game as we want top seeding, but we will build a lead with penalties if necessary to apply pressure and will go for it hell for leather for the bonus point int he final quarter.
  • Form/Momentum. Our form over the last 7 matches is WWWWWWW.
  • Stade are out, and will have no interest in this game whatsoever.
  • Freshness. The team is well rotated and we will go for the full 80 minutes.
  • Balance. Good blend of youth and experience, which you need to win away games in Europe.

London Welsh make 5 changes for this weeks trip to Paris to face Stade Francais, with South African duo Rynhardt Elstadt and Siya Kolisi coming into the back row to replace Kevin McLaughlin and Luke Wallace. In the backs, experienced South African Louis Ludik comes in for Jack Nowell at full back, with Dave McSharry and Matt Jess replacing Tom Casson and Andrew Trimble. New signing Jim Hamilton is included amongst the replacements.

Sale 38-9 Bordeaux

Sale’s backrows and centres will have a field day!

Dragons 12-28 Wasps

Dragons don’t give up but Wasps have the steady head of Barritt and the pace of Zebo to come on.

Bath 40-3 Wolves

A mainly 2nd string Bath backline side take an easy win against Wolves.

Stade 16-28 Welsh

Good Stade team but Welsh’s centre pairing has 2 of my favourite centres at present in it and both playing well.

Sale 40 - 15 Bordeaux
Easy win, good backline and power in the forwards to give them plenty of scoring opportunities.

Dragons 17 - 28 Wasps
Dragons will put up a good fight here, but Wasps will win away by a couple of scores.

Bath 53 - 11 Wolves
A lot of youngsters out, which stops this being a similar scoreline to the Worcester game.

Stade 19-27 Welsh
Should be a tighter game, but Stade will have no interest in this game as they are already out and Welsh looking for the away win will get it.

Worcester 92 - 6 BG
Thrashing.

Sale 43 - 10 Bordeaux

Easy as usual in this competition. Sale have put out a good pack which gets on top and the backs run in some tries.

Worcester 53 - 12 Gernika

Worcester side good enough to win easily.

NPG 21 - 30 Wasps

Dragons always good at home but Wasps have enough to grind out the win.

Bath 35 - 15 Wolves

3rd string Bath players in some positions. Not one-sided but Bath do get 5 points.

Stade 22 - 26 London Welsh

Best game of the round as it should be a great contest and give Welsh a real test. They take the win, but it is a close one with a Stade side which I like,

Worcester 60-10 Gernika
Pack sets the tempo for a young Warriors backline to run riot

Dragons 18-26 Wasps
Wasps with good impact to pull away late on

Bath 47-12 Wolves
Backs misfire a bit but bench and pack ensure a big win

Stade 17 - 20 London Welsh
Tough trip to France for Welsh but they have enough to see out a tight affair
(2 Bezys on show in this match)

Actually, in the interest of fairness, as has happened with others who've played ineligible players this season, Bezy is removed and I am a man short on the bench!

Sale 52 Bordeaux 6

Bordeaux one of the worst sides i'v ever seen at this level.

Worcester 103 Gernika 3

Big win for the men from Wuss against part timers.

Newport 12 - 20 London Wasps

Wasps have more star dust and are rock solid as a defense.

Bath 45 Wolves 9

Bath stronger through out.

Stade 18 London Welsh 26

Welsh a better side than a Stade team who seem stuck in a rut over the last few years.

Sale 42-8 Bordeaux
Wasps are just too good all over the park for me.

Worcester 73-3 Gernika
Gernika just are not good enough

Dragons 15-23 Wasps
Tough game with Dragons at home but Wasps have enough.

Stade 15-19 Welsh
Stade are not as good as they used to be and they struggle against Welsh
