First topic message reminder :

So we are into the final round of group matches and this Saturday 19th January at 1.35pm Castre will take to the field V Ulster. Now Ulster are already guaranteed to qualify from the group and Castre are out but there is plenty riding on this for Ulster namely a home QF. If Ulster were to win and get the try bonus point they would definitely get a home Quarter final anything else and then it is down to other teams results as well. The biggest thing for Ulster will be to avoid any QF trips to France. The biggest worry for Ulster going into the match is now a big injury list. It is possible Ulster if all of their doubtful players don't make it will not be able to field 3 backs on the bench. So what are your predictions guys?
The match will be on Sky Sports 3 and I will update this thread with teams as we know them.

Ulster
(15-9): Gilroy; Trimble, Cave, Wallace, Allen; Pienaar, Marshall;
(1-8): Court, Best, Afoa, Stevenson, McComb, Diack, Henry (capt), Wilson;
Replacements (16-23): Herring, Black, Fitzpatrick, Henderson, McComish, Heaney, Jackson, Cochrane.

Castres
P Bernard, M Evans, S Bai, R Lamerat, M Garvey, R Tales, R Kockott; Y Forestier, M-A Rallier, A Peikrishvili, M Rolland, C Samson, M Babillot, P Faasalele, P Wannenburg.

Replacements: B Mach, S Taumoepeau, M Lazar, I Tekori, T Lacrampe, J Bornman, P Bonnefond, M Andreu.

Henry is the form man at 7 we are still testing to see if he is actually human, Payne is brilliant at fullback, front row have been destroying people, Henderson seems to enjoy playing back row and is physical for only 20, Muller will be back by then too. Pienaar is a better 9 than 10 and Paul Marshall with about 20 to go is a livewire. Hope that helps a bit Beshocked

Maybe our Mark could persuade the travel agent for Saracens that they should expand their fanbase by playing it at Ravenhill? Whistle

Sin e,

Young lads don't see Tommy Bowe as a GAA player. They see him as someone who was a good GAA player a long time ago. He was at Ulster as a pro for 5 seasons before he went to Wales so any effect would have already happened.

The same lads who play GAA are very happy to support Man U or Liverpool not because of any link they feel to their community but because they are successful.

That is the link we can make to young lads from every section of the community.

neilthom7 he might persuade Saracens to play at MK stadium or perhaps Boston or Capetown or Brussells or Coventry but unfortunately for you - not Ravenhill! thumbsup

It does a little bit thanks. What would your first choice 23 be?

Best 23 if all our players are fit for the QF?

Court - Best - Afoa
Muller - Tuohy
Ferris - Williams - Henry
Pienaar - Jackson
Wallace - Cave
Gilroy - Payne - Trimble

Herring, Black, Fitzpatrick, Henderson, Wilson, P Marshall, L Marshall, Cochrane

Is that Luke or Paul you have on the bench?

I'd have said we would have both. Will Darcy be back by then? I'm assuming you have left Tommy B out as he will not make it. Would Williams?

Whoops... fixed now.

Completely forgot that Luke would be back too. I don't think Adam will be back any time soon. He's on the long term list with Paddy McA and Tommy...

Williams is what 8 weeks? He should be back in time. If not then Wilson to start and Stevenson on the bench.

thanks ! Would have been a shame missing Wallace - one of my favourite Irish centres (if not my favourite after BOD).
