Round 10 - Predictions revealed Empty Round 10 - Predictions revealed

Benfica 1 - 2 Valencia
Silva --------- Neymar, Yaya

Yaya finished this game off with a scorching 30 yarder when the ball broke free and he lashed at it. Earlier Benfica started brightly and scored when Fellaini flicked the ball on and Silva latched onto it and slipped it through the keepers legs. Valencia grew and and eventually their possesion paid off with Hernandez smashing the ball hard and the keeper saved but Neymar was first to react and chip over the keeper. Yaya with the deserving winneing goal at the end.

Napoli vs Atletico (my game)
---
Schalke 3 - 0 Roma
Reus
Goetze
Di Maria

Roma fielded 2 injured players
---
Napoli 1 - 3 Newcastle
Wilian -------- Ronaldo (2) Ibrahimovic

New signing Ronaldo made an immediate impact with 2 great goals and an assist for Ibra. However, there was a controversial moment when Newcastle were awarded a penalty for Newcastle and both Ronaldo and Ibra were arguing that they will take it. Incredibly they decided by 'rock, paper and scissors' which Ibra won but missed the penalty. Wilian pulled a goal back after Huntelaar and Pirlo combined to slip him in.
---
Spurs 2 - 2 Porto
Higuain(2) -- Schweinstiger, Tevez

Game of the day buth honours even at White Heartless Lane. Schweinstiger with a 20 yard opener gave Porto the lead but Spurs forward and Higuain headed home the equaliser. After the break, Higuain gave Spurs the lead after Bale crossed and Higuain volleyed home. Porto were not finished though as Fabregas found Tevez free and he curled it low past the keeper.

Napoli 0 - 0 Atletico Madrid

Newcastle 1 - 0 Lazio
Ibra

Tottenham 2 - 2 Porto
Higuain -------- Fabregas
Bale ------------ Tevez

Marky
Napoli 3-3 Atletico Madrid
(Van Persie, El Shaarawy, Walcott) (Suarez x2, Ozil)
Atletico missed Falcao but did their best to make do without him, Ozil behind Suarez is deadly but Napoli have a fearsome and quick front three, lots of goals but a draw the fair result.

Schalke 3-0 Roma
(Reus, Di Maria, Berbatov)
Roma suffered by playing 2 injured players, effectively having only 9 men on the pitch. Schalke cruise to a comfortable win.

Newcastle 2-2 Lazio
(Ronaldo, Ibrahimovic) (Willian, Huntelaar)
All about Cristiano Ronaldo, but I feel he was a bit wasted at AM, he's a better player upfront or on the wing. I don't see Ibrahimovic sharing the spotlight either, so maybe it needs work. Lazio are settled and earn themselves a point.

Spurs 2-2 Porto
(Higuain, Bale) (Tevez, Fabregas)
Spurs in transition, Sneijder hasn't played IRL for months and has no form. Porto look impressive in midfield but a strong Spurs defence do well.

CaptainUnited
Valencia 2-1 Benfica
robben,Hernandez
Cavani
Cavani put Benfica in the lead with a goal in the twenty second minute.Valencia defence was practically absent during that moment in time. Valencia were not phased by going down so early on in the game, and soon Robben equalized. Benfica struggled to regain possession as Valencia pressed on, maintaining a fast pace and determined performance. Hernandez put Valencia in the lead just before the half time whistle.

Atletico Madrid 2-0 Napoli
ozil,suarez
It was no surprise that Atletico began the game looking more composed and assured on the ball. Napoli had half chances but they were restricted to hopeful counter attacks. Atletico maintained control of the ball and looked to use the pace of Suarez to get at the visiting team.Atletico got the first goal of the game through Ozil. In the 14th minute, Ozil's free kick was flicked on by Ozil into Suarezs path. He made no mistake with the finish and gave Atletico a 2-0 lead.

Roma 1-3 Schalke
cazorla
Berbatov,dimaria,goetze
Schalke were caught cold in the fourth minute when cazorla scored but the lead lasted just over four minutes. Goetze , the Schalke midfielder, crossed for Berbatov who made no mistake with the finish.Di maria provided the cross for Goetze to put Schalke ahead in the second half, before Di maria’s deflected effort 11 minutes from time sealed the win.

Lazio 1-2 Newcastle
Sterling
Ronaldo(x2)
Ronaldo with a breathtaking goal broke the deadlock. After dominating the early stages of the match,Newcastle's defence capitulated for the rest of the first half as Lazio’s attacking players came to life. When a clever play between Pirlo and vidal left Sterling with a tap-in. Ronaldo put Newcastle in front in 73 minute with a free-kick.

Footballcrazy
benfica 1-2 valencia
silva
neymar, navas

valencia had the better defence which helped them to a narrow, close fought win over benfica. neymar beat two defenders on his way to score the first goal of the game, and navas tricked his way past a static fuchs to score the second for the spanish club. benfica tried hard to get back in the game and their DMs started winning possession in the 2nd half but it was too late to get them anything from the game. they got a consolation however from silva's exquisite fk.

napoli 0-1 atletico
ozil

the 2nd away win of this GW so far with another spanish club winning. atletico bossed the game from start to finish with xavi and cambiasso spreading passes at will. puyol was troubled by el sharaway but the experienced defender was helped by thiago silva a few times. ozil scored at half hour mark after xavi's thru pass found him and he cooly slotted the ball home.

schalke 2-0 roma
berbs, di maria

roma fielded two injured players and had no chance of getting anything from this game. schalke kept the ball and scored two goals with ease . berbatov scoring the first from a corner and di maria grabbed the second of the match with a long range strike.

newcastle 1-1 lazio
ibra
huntelaar

both teams with plenty of space for improvements and a draw here was a fair result. newcastle's new signing ronaldo provided the assist for ibra and the portuguese went close with a trademark fk but it was saved by carrizo. lazio got back in the game thru huntelaar. he got on the end of a cross by sterling and placed his header in the corner of the goal

El Dios
Benfica v Valencia
0-0
A game where Keeper provailed - both team looked to attack and attack they did; creating chance after chance - Valencia hit the post twice in a minute and had one cleared off the line.
Benfica thought they'd catch out golden oldy Buffon and nearly did after Cavani was through one on one and slotted home - only to be deemed offside and for the goal to be ruled out.
An exciting game with two quality midfields and some awful defending but it was a goalkeeper day - as although they were busy neither were beaten.

Napoli v Athletico
My Game - no voting counts but would say a much closer game then last and hope I might come away with a score draw. (but tactics will dicate my losting 2-1 and 1-0 etc)

Schalke v Roma
2-0
Schalke ran out deserved winners - against 9 man Roma - Berbatov and Di Maria got on the score sheet.

Newcastle v Lazio
1-0
Pirlo and Vidal did well to keep Ronaldo quite but failed to track the run of Montolivo - who struck home from 20 yards after a Ibrahimovic knock down.

Spurs v Porto
0-1
Spurs should have run out winner but a bad day at the office for new boys Mascherano and Sneijder who have struggled with injury this season and Porto with the extra strength in midfield ran them over and scored late on through Vertonghen.

Hodgey
Napoli 1-2 Atletico
RvP ------ Xavi
----------- Suarez

Atletico were lucky to escape from Naples with a win as they looked severely lacking in wide areas. Giggs is good back up but that is it, and Turan isn't the best option. Yet Xavi was an inspired purchase, and scored the opener before assisting Suarez for the winner. Napoli have made some improvements and made this game a contest, but van Persie's talent is unfortunately on a different level to the rest of his side. The midfield needs reinforcement imo.

===

Schalke 4-0 Roma
Alonso
Reus
Gotze
di Maria

Schalke would have won this game relatively comfortably but they were aided by Roma fielding injured players in key position. Pjanic is not a holding midfielder at the best of times and on his own he was violated by Gotze, Reus and di Maria, which is arguably the strongest attacking trio in the league. They look painfully average at the back, and were fortunate Villa was ruled out for Schalke. LRF has his work cut out to get this side a win for the rest of the season. Schalke need defensive improvement too, however, but an injured Ba couldn't take advantage.

===

Newcastle 1-0 Lazio
Ronaldo

Newcastle just about edged this game. Iniesta's injury looked insignificant as his replacement Ronaldo caused havoc in a free-roaming central position. Where they have been worst hit is holding midfield, and this is where they must look to strengthen. Lazio's midfield did cause Newcastle problems, but they did not have their best day in front of goal as their front three missed plenty of chances. Lazio also need defensive improvement as only Badstuber is fit to play in this side in comparison to his teammates.

===

Spurs 1-1 Porto
Bale ------- Tevez

Spurs' midfield had enough to cope with Porto's, surprisingly, and thus earned a hard-fought draw. Mascherano and M'Vila add balance to the midfield and nullified largely Fabregas' threat. Maicon and Evra also performed surprisingly well to prevent Pedro and Podolski's involvement in the game. Tevez did cause Vermaelen some problems, but the same can be said for Higuain and Menez, who troubled Luiz and Gibbs. Porto don't have a strong enough defence to a win a title and may look to sacrifice some attacking talent for defensive solidarity.
