Which are your players to watch WC 2011
Out of interest I was wondering what your thoughts are on which players will shine in the 2011 World Cup. New Zealand will have plenty I'm sure. Might be easier to do it by nation. I'll start with Wales:
Sam Warburton (Flanker)
Jon Davies (Centre)
Adam Jones (Prop)
Maybe Hook (Fly half and centre)

I certainly want to watch the first two, but anyway I'll go with scotland
Ruaidrh Jackson (fly half)
Richie Gray (second row)
Joe Ansboro (centre/wing)
Ross ford (hooker)
Chris Cusiter (scrum half)
The first three are exciting young propects for scottish rugby in the future dand the last two are vital to the success of the team all round. if ross ford can hit his jumpers in the lineout and get around the park effectively, then he will be a great force. If cusiter can find some form after injury then he will really boss the pack around and hopefully get some quick ball.

Wales
George North and Leigh Halfpenny - Shane's 11 shirt is up for grabs for the first time in a decade
Sam Warburton - Has the potential to be one of the best flankers in the world, he has stood up well this year (even against McCaw) and we missed him against France
Jamie Roberts and Jonathon Davies - I have a feeling both will be looking to impress - especially if Henson is recalled - Im expecting big things from Roberts in such a physical group.
Hook - Watch him, if you blink he might have switched positions, 10,12,13,15 its like watching a merry-go-round
The front row - Perhaps we will be lucky and get to see Gethin, Adam and Rees in the same front row for once (Rees is never injured, but Gethin and Adam are always injured it would appear)

Ireland
Felix Jones (Fullback) - If Kidney chooses a specialist who hasn't been injured and is in form, he will get the nod. A strong runner with plenty of talent, he could make a good impact coming into the line as he did at the weekend against Ospreys.
Jonathan Sexton (Fly half) - Never really brought his Leinster form to Ireland, but the atmosphere at the World Cup might get the best out of him.
Brian O'Driscoll (Centre) - He might be getting towards the end of his career, but you can't take your eyes off him when he is in form.
Sean Cronin (Hooker) - He isn't first choice, but if his try against Ulster is anything to go by, he is a very exciting player when at his best.

Shane Williams - his swan song. I just hope Gatland and Howley have read tge script.
Ashton - the SH treatment of him will be fascinating
Murray, Barclay, Brown and Beattie. Will they recover form?
Connor Murphy, the answer to Irelands scrum half woes?
Harionordoquy - can he bring consistency that will put him up there as the best backrow in the world?
Canale - can he bring threat to the Italian backline?
Pocock v McCaw - has to be one of the most fascinating contests, even if they don't meet in a match.
I'll let others go in depth on SH.

I think you mean Conor Murray for Ireland's scrum half. I doubt he'll be going though. Tomas O'Leary will probably go instead of him.

If you say so, I'm sure Gareth Charles was calling him Murphy in the Ospreys match
The boy has flair, pace and a decent pass. Wouldn't you take the three Munster 9's?

I think for Australia watching Genia, Cooper and Giteau in the back line with strong runners like Digby Ioane and Adam ashely cooper. but the main attraction for Australia is definitely James O'Connor. This boy has everything pace, skill, tackling, vision and most importantly a calm head under pressure. It will be great to see him in form preferably at Full Back, but he can play any where.

Re: Which are your players to watch WC 2011
Here's his biography: http://www.munsterrugby.ie/rugby/academyprofiles.php?player=80935&includeref=dynamic. I probably would take him over O'Leary, who has been out a lot and wasn't brilliant when he did play this year. I think Stringer must go because he is the best passer in Ireland and offers a lot from the bench. Reddan should go because he is playing reasonably well and has a good understanding with Sexton, who is likely to be the outhalf. I suspect Kidney will take O'Leary though because Murray hasn't test experience. If he doesn't return from injury, then Murray will be on the plane I would have thought.

In 2 years time Murray will be clear first choice for Ireland.

You are probably right Glas - he's looking good. Let's not count any chickens just yet though.

From a welsh perspective the one player who in my opinion will play well and wont have been seen on the international stage before is toby faletau,

Toby Faletau - expect big things from this very impressive no 8 - lets hope his skill transfers to the international stage
George North - Wales will need his speed and strength in a very physical group
Shane Williams - Hopefuly he'll go out with a bit of flair - especially against South Africa
J Davies the 2nd - Again, much needed in a very physical group

Re: Which are your players to watch WC 2011
As the swansong for so many, as the RWC always is I hope that players use this to show the world what they can do, leave a marker.
If I were Gavin Henson, shane williams or Steven Jones I would be really excited at the prospect of really showing all the doubters that there is something I can do that will be talked about for years to come.
Dont often get an opportunity to shine in the limelight like you do at a world cup and for so many players it will be there last.
