Giants fans will be very disappointed with that stat. As would any team that lost.Luke wrote:So despite conceding 5 tries, and only scoring 3.
WE WON,
Going to have to lie down for a while. It's a win that was needed, and will hopefully get us going.

Every week there it seems that that a ref makes a major blunder and obviously alters the game.

Re: The Hull Kingston Rovers Thread
Pleased for KR, deserved the win IMO. I suspect technically the decisions were correct and I am not saying Gaskell dived or flaked it but if that contact results in such a reaction he might be better doing something a bit more gentle. Knitting perhaps or no....sitting watching the TV with a sugary mug of tea.
Ian Watson must be scratching his head "right lads stay solid, complete your first 2 -3 sets good kick and chase". 7 seconds later.......4 - 0 down. Who would be a coach.

Re: The Hull Kingston Rovers Thread
I was wrong it was 4 tries.
Again worryingly our defence was as leaky as a sieve, and after getting a good lead. The way we allowed Huddersfield back was worrying. But we ground out, and at this stage it's all about getting the points which we did.
Sorry Beast, that is a dive by Gaskill, and he should be ashamed and hauled up on an unsportsmanlike conduct, and banned for at least a game. Otherwise it was pretty much what I expected from a match referred by Kendall, confusing and trying to work out which rules we were playing to.
I don't like having a go at refs (they have a hard enough job), but all I ask in for consistency, if your playing those decisions, do it to both sides.all game.
Joe Keyes.gone to York on a 2 week loan at least.
Really don't understand with Minchella out, put Abdull at of,, and have Milne and Lewis as hb pairing.

Apologies I was trying to be sarcastic and yes 100% agreed, never want to see this in RL.
Meanwhile Eliot Wallis' loan deal at Bradford has ended, although I understand he has left KR by mutual consent.

Has joined Doncaster on a season long loan, good luck to him. He needs to be playing rugby to help his development, and this is a good move for both parties.

Jez Litten
Has extended his contract for 3 years, and 2ill be at the club till 2025 (if we don't sell him of course).
Great getting him longer, good bit of business and hopefully he will continue improving.

2 wins in a row, fantastic.
Played some decent rugby, but was really suprised by just how poor Leeds were.
Johnson proving me wrong by having another decent game, Ryan getting a run and proving good. Things looking to say, till we lose again than it will be Poopie again.

It is Beast. It's a very strange position as a Rovers fan, playing well. Players battling for game time. Hard game thus week (Warrington away), but then a week off. Looking good, we might actually avoid a relegation battle this year.

Zero chance of your club being in a dog fight at the bottom end of the table, so perhaps go for a play off spotLuke wrote:2 wins in a row, fantastic.

Well the expected defeat happened, disappointing how we fell away after sticking close to them.
Personally from what I've seen (admittedly not alot), Quinlan has been poor, and we should drop him and give Dagger a run.

For me the Warrington scoreline did not reflect the game. That's RL, but I thought KR put in a good shift.

They did, but that's the difference between a good and okay side. When they had there spells, suddenly they're putting lots of points on the board.

As Ethan Ryan has signed a 2 year extension. Pleased with this, he's coming on a lot, and has been fully worth.

Players left to sort out contract extensions for after this year.
Adam Quinlan, Will Dagger, Greg Minkin, Ben Crooks, Shaun Kenny-Dowall, Kane Linnett, Matt Parcell, Will Maher, Jimmy Keinhorst, Owen Harrison.
Personally would look to keep Dagger, Crooks, Linnett, Kenny-Dowall definitely.

Great win last night, particularly from 14 - 0 down.
Already six points/50% ahead of Wakefield and Leigh. I see it Wakefield away on Sunday, not easy given they have 2 days more recovery time but a win will allay (if there were any) relegation concerns.

Yeah, really impressive come back, and even when down played some good rugby and scored some great tries. With the extensions as well, things are going well with the club. Which is pleasing and different.

Re: The Hull Kingston Rovers Thread
Well another win, some impressive rugby, and good tries (aided by soft Salford defence). We ran hard, played some good attacking rugby, and defensively looked okay, and were decisive.
And I was wrong about Ryan Hall, who's playing great. Things continuing well.
Though the next month should be interesting, after a stop start start to the season, we will be playing every week with games against Saints h&a, Wigan a, Catalan a, Warrington h and a derby. And Smith has already said he will be rotating the team for some of those games (I hope not, keep the side that's winning playing constantly barring injuries).
Only saw the highlights, but got to say I don't understand Atkins sin-binning for Salford, to me looked a perfectly good ball steal.

Re: The Hull Kingston Rovers Thread
Tough run of games but playing exactly the type of rugby anyone would want leading to them and a nice buffer from the bottom of the league (a couple of scalps in the next few weeks and it really is playoff talk).
The penalty looked technically correct to me but harsh on the player who is not to know the ball carrying arm has touched the floor. I could be wrong however I think the sin bin was his reaction.

I have not seen much of Kenny-Dowall but yes good news, if there was a list of unsung players Linnett would be right up there, quality.
More good news, an outstanding win at Wigan tonight.

Yep,
It's a statement win, we may not get into the play offs, but we're certainly heading in the right direction. And we needed to beat someone we were not expected to. And this was it.
Outstanding defence (especially in the first half), and again clinical taking the few chances we had. And given that Abdull and Milnes were out and.we were playing with a totally new half back pairing. Couldn't have asked for much more really.

Re: The Hull Kingston Rovers Thread
As Beast mentions on the signings thread, Rovers have signed back Phoniex Laulu -Togaga'e on a 2 year deal from Keighley, on what is seen as more a project move (especially as we've signed Coote who plays in his favoured position).
NEW SIGNINGS

Frwrd - Frankie Halton from Featherstone 2 years.
Frwrd - Tom Garrett from Dewsbury 2 years.
Utility - Sam Wood from Huddersfield.
Back - Phoniex Laulu - Togaga'e from Keighley 2 years.
On a side note, it's good the club are looking at the lower divisions for players.
And after 2 defeats to Catalans, we bounced back with a scrappy win at Leigh. A wins a win, but we did look like we were playing our 3rd game in 2 weeks, after a lot of games being cancelled.
