So far, only one little blip, swiftly dealt with by our ever present mod.

I deleted my 606 Profile last week & have just checked the site for the first time since then. The same boring anti-UKA statements are being argued to the death and proclamations of "nobody wants to hear the truth" are being thrown around like Jack Nicholson in The Firm. (you know the kind, they rhyme with ash and games).

I'd like to thank all new members of this board and all co-existing members of both boards for not allowing this forum to descend into childish jibbering pigeon pap like the other obvious yet nameless QuakeButtocks have done to 606.

I'd like to thank lsabre for becoming an omnipresent & creating a virtual live update feed on Brits at home & abroad. Been good to see how some of my friends are doing - before they even tell me in some cases(Gausons & Chris O'Hare).

Keep up the good work everyone. This board will flourish where the other one withered and died.

Agree with you Camerajuan. 606 is rapidly descending into a repetitive farce between 2 opposing camps that seem to go round in circles. I am still signed up but am almost looking forward to it closing!

As much as I understand how arguing over the internet solves/means/proves nothing, I will never understand how some Muppet and prannets can argue the same point without giving any proof other than their own opinion.

This board has no place for clueless apes like that.

Camerajuan, careful what you write on the tinternet please. More than lilkely the people you talk of are on all the same forums as you. We all have one common interest in athletics. Its just that politics/jealousy destroys it some times.

Hopefully Isabre can keep the board clean from persistent opinion 'shouters', not sure what to call them.

Quite agree this forum should just be for opinions on performance of the athlete not the establishment, neither should it be for attacking people using rhyming slang, just to much for some people to keep it stum isnt it.

Yep, flash I totally agree with you 100%. I tried to be nonchalont but you seem to have this penchant for being hated.

BBC descended into "I hate UKA so I am right" thanks to yourself and james. Deleted posts that question your views, your own line of questioning which NOBODY could answer due to NOBODY being affiliated with the organisation and the people who run it.

This place is better than that.

Just checked out the dark side after a few weeks off, there seems to be no end of the spineless nonsense and filth flarn flith that I came to expect every time I logged on.

Thats why I deleted my profile & thats why I'm now on here.

Stay CameraJuan... this place can be saved as the last bastion of athletics talk and not politics. Afterall, one member on here who might be trying to cause trouble (allegedly in my opinion) is the admin on a rival site (as well as other usernames)

Mods are normal members, just like everyone else. We are allowed a sense of humour, you know. It would appear you need a transplant with regard to this - it'd appear there is just no pleasing some people.

I class this as a personal attack. A blatant obvious one from a mod.

How comes they're allowed to get away with clear attacks but a minor cleverly worded one from any one of us gets deleted & we get a pm asking to chill out & keep things on topic.

Given that people are wound up enough at the moment as it is, I would suggest that it's probably not pertinent for random mods (who haven't appeared to be involved thus far) to turn up and seem to try to antagonise people.

RD - genuine question: why have the world and his wife mods suddenly appeared on the athletics forum, all of whom are saying 'get over it'. I genuinely don't remember seeing these people before, so you can see why regular posters are going to be a little upset by suddenly being told to get over it and stay on topic.

Some tact/diplomacy from the 'powers that be' is surely called for if you want others to follow your words

I guess Hero OK'd them initially. It was a great initiative of his to get things started here.

The mods are presumably for other sports who have been invited to try and help ease the pain of Isabre's departure?

that's about it yes teassoc. Rugby is my first love sports wise (obviously Wink

) but I do really like athletics too. I won't even pretend to have as much of an in depth knowledge on it as you all on here, but I do like it. I really want to see this athletics forum become a great place on here Smile
