What is the most likely reason for Wales' fall from grace?
No decent coaches in Wales is now showing its true colours
Credit must be given to Ireland. They didn't have to turn up in the 2nd half, but saying that they did start the 2nd half like they finished the first half. When you go 30-3 up in Cardiff you don't really need to try to hard to win the match.
Ireland played genius in patches in the first half, but one try was a chargedown and a lot of Wales' problems were self inflicted. Very VERY poor basic skills in execution, set piece and attacking play. This MUST be down to awful coaching. A great attacking lineout from a penalty and super captain Sam Warburton misses the catch and 2 minutes later Ireland have a try. What a way to self destruct.
I have realised this morning that Wales have very few (if any) good coaches. The excellent coaches that Wales have produced DON'T EVEN WORK IN WALES!!!!!!
Lyn Jones
Nigel Davies
Kingsley Jones
Dai Young
Mike Ruddock
Is this coincidence? Maybe if we had central contracting and the regions were supported by the WRU instead of trying to run like independent businesses then we wouldn't lose our best coaches to England, Ireland, Russia, Georgia or wherever...
Wales currently has one world class coach (Warren Gatland). Is it really a shock that Wales win a grandslam, but then overnight turn into failures the same moment Gatland departs? Basic errors and incompetence cost Wales two easy wins in the 2nd and 3rd tests in Australia in June and then for the autumn they just got worse.
Poor coaching or lack of coaching at regional level is now starting to show. The players are just not as sharp or intelligent as their Irish, French or English counterparts. Wales needs a very high standard of skill and coaching at club level as it has now been identified as the major contributing factor in the international sides cracks. It is the BASIC and SIMPLE things that Wales fail on time and time again. It is borderline criminal to see highly paid highly experienced players perform simple tasks so badly.

1) Injuries
2) nationally players selected on reputation & no form .
3) lack of quality in Regions so players aren't playing at consistently high level.
Lyn Jones, Dai Young & Mike Ruddock were roundly criticised by many welsh fans when they were in Wales!

How long have you been watching rugby? Under Gatland, Wales have won two grand slams but finished no higher than fourth the rest of the time. If you're going to credit him for the grand slams, you also have to blame him for those poor seasons.
The poster formerly known as RogerLewis has been banned again Lucky so won't be responding.
