Extreme Rules Build Up
Its nearly here so how do you see this one going?
Any surprises in store?
Will Y2J return?
Will it be better than Mania?
Do you see the champions retaining, or a new champion taking the belt?
Also, the chat box will be on for ER, hope to see you there

Re: Extreme Rules Build Up
IMO the line up is better than Mania and I expect the matches too be better than Mania.
Hopefully Y2J returns but it may be too short notice as he's just been eliminated from DWTS.
Christian to win the world title and Cena to win the WWE title...again.
Also i'll likely be on the chat box

Re: Extreme Rules Build Up
I was thinking that Cena would win the title here for a while but now im not so sure they may just hold it off until Capital Punishment

Re: Extreme Rules Build Up
It feels some of the feuds are coming to an end (Punk/Orton and Mysterio/Rhodes for example) and there is a certain discontent in me because those feud enders should have been at WM!! Then again it is because the WWE started their WM build up for mid card rivalries too late so couldn't culminate them at WM.
Still it looks a good card, my hope would be that it will still showcase good skills as well as a load of big spots and shortcut matches.
Btw, is the prediction league happening??

I always have in the back of my mind this feud that Cena has coming with The Rock. Would their match involve the belt? I dont think it needs a championship match.
Could Morrision pull a shock and take it, leading to a Miz v Morrision battle, its possible. But at the moment i cant see passed a Miz win.

That begs the questions, should the PPV have stayed as Backlash, the final nail on the coffin following Mania?
p.s. the PPV prediction league games are here:

I dont think WM has to be the feud ending PPV for every feud

Mania seems to be the pinnacle of a great build up though Gaffer. I always viewed Backlash as the 'revenge or second chance' senario following Mania.
Agree that it doesnt need to be the end of a storyline or feud, but with ER, it seems to have taken away the edge of a Mania 'backlash' PPV.

You are right, it doesn't have to end every feud... I suppose it is because this WM seemed to leave so many more questions than answers that it felt like a build-up event rather than the main one of the year.
I can see the logic of continuing Cody/Rey, though Punk v Orton could have ended at WM in a great LMS match. Maybe the WWE realised the card was going to be light for Extreme Rules so had to have another match.
It (obviously) feels too gimmick heavy, which takes away from some of the spectacle of the event. Sometimes less is more.

As an overall event it won't be as good as Mania.
I can't see Jericho returning so soon.
I think Miz will retain and Christian will win the vacant WHC.
