Harlequins v Leicester
First topic message reminder :
Last season this fixture was quite possibly the match of the season (except for Tom Croft) as Tigers came from behind to storm past Quins and gain revenge for the defeat at WR earlier in the season. Of course Quins were to have the last laugh. Sadly this season the match takes place during the 6Ns so both teams will be weakened. From past experience we can expect Stuart Lancaster to release players who have had limited game time back to their clubs - this should mean that Tigers will have Manu and Waldrom available - but perhaps more importantly Quins will be able to call on Danny Care who should help Nick Evans get out of his mid-season slump. Logo Mulipola took a serious whallop to the testicals at the weekend so Cockers may well decide to select Castro for this fixture. Croft played 75 minutes last week so as part of his re-introduction is due a week off, while Mafi is still struggling with his hamstring.
My expected Tigers line-up:
Ayerza, Hawkins, Castro, Deacon, Kitchener, Waldrom, Salvi, Crane
Harrison, Flood, Thompstone, Allen, Manu, Morris, Tait
Reps: Mulipola, Chuter, Balmain, Slater, Deacon, Young, Ford, Murphy.
oops forgot Flood will probably be made available as well.

oh my god, So a tigers player is holding on to the ball whilst on his feet. Then a quins player comes in. Barnes blows and says everyone was on their feet.
Well if that was the case it should be a pen to tigers!!!

Barnes did his best to miss that one, only his touch judge shouting twice made him stop.

Re: Harlequins v Leicester
Just got back, and what an atmosphere tonight at the Stoop! HUGE away contingent, and it was great to welcome so many Tigers supporters.
Barnes missed a good few decisions tonight, both ways Nathan ( ). Supporters on their feet for all tries and pen kicks. What a belter!
Game of 2013 for me so far, 80 minutes of Rugby that showed England internationals that desperately want selection - Flood's intercept try was a cracker and Danny care with his tap & try in the second half showed pure commitment. All home & Away supporters seemed to love the evening; many more hopefully! If this is the way 2013 starts then it's going to be a good year.

Care now has 4 tries in the League to go with his 4 in Europe. Looks like he's hungry for a red jersey...

Re: Harlequins v Leicester
Good win for Quins.
There was a time when we'd have blown that kind of game.
Senior players stepped up and Botica looked born to play at this level. Still yet to see what all the hype for OLH is about though. Trayfoot looked class as well and Easter went alright at lock.
Oh and Barnes was poor for BOTH teams today, as always. One time just worked around him while the other kept blundering around in the dark.

I might be wrong but I think that was his fifth tonight.
Could he have propelled himself into a starting spot for England? Probably not.

I don't think there's a lot between Care and Youngs....both the form 9s in the NH at the moment, perfectly happy for them to share duties. Care probably slightly more suited to coming on with 20 to go with his extra physicality.

I am away at the moment so missed this match. no Sky sports where I am. I read on this post winge after winge by Tigers fans about Wayne Barnes decisions. So I have been looking on line at independent match reports, Daily Telegraph to name just one, and do you know what, blow me down but not one mentioned anything about the refs performance, they all seem to say a great match with Quins coming out as deserving winners.

Good game. Quins basically out-muscled Tigers pack, which is an impressive acheivement. I've been waiting to see Trayfoot for years and wasn't disappointed. Care was superb - I'd expect him and Youngs to tour with the Lions.
The play-offs should be brilliant.

Re: Harlequins v Leicester
Disappointed with that result. Quins never really worried me in attack, I always felt Tigers had them covered. Care was the only real threat but he only scored off a penalty (I challenge anybody to spot the "10 obstruction" that was the source of that penalty). Barnes was the only source of points for them, Barnes was woefully inconsistent as per usual and easily swayed by the crowd. Tigers helped themselves not at all by some senseless kicking. If we'd kept the ball in hand and gone in, in numbers we could have nulified the Barnes breakdown lottery. The ref gave us nothing but he wasn't the one kicking dead, missing tackles or knocking on. Barnes was a hinderance toTigers but we can't blame him for everything.
We missed Youngs, Harrison didn't have a bad game but Benny is head and shoulders the best 9 going at the minute and his tactical play has been nothing short of sensational recently. An LBP away from home when minus T Youngs, Cole, Castro, Parling, Croft, Ben Youngs and Geordan isn't too and I suppose. Means we have to win against Sarries next week.

To be fair Nathan if you were to look back you are a little OTT about Barnes.
And oddly silent with some of his calls against Quins...

Looking back he was not completely silent.
I will reserve full judgement on Barnes until (or if) I watch the match on TV. It felt as if at times he was pinging us for something and not Quins. BUT i am not impartial and at times it was impossible to work out what he was blowing for. I will lambast him for the farce and delay over Thompstone's try. We waited what 5 minutes for something that looked clear as day?
I would like to thank the Quins staff (and have done in an e-mail) for how well they looked after me and my daughters. they went above what was needed and it was appreciated. Huge thanks to Danny Care (still got dumb hair though), Toby Flood and Manu for the signed England training shirt they gave my youngest, and extra thanks to Danny Care for spotting that there was a second daughter with me and sorting out a little gift for her. She may be Quins newest fan now.
Finally I just hope that the next time we meet Quins this season we can win

That's brilliant to hear LT.
I've bumped in to Care a couple of times and he's always been friendly and approachable. Although his hair looked even worse yesterday without the gel and now that it's grown out a little.
I think we can all agree that Barnes was poor, I just take a little bit of offense at the idea put forward by a couple on here that he was the sole downfall of Tigers or the only conduit for Quins to score points or that he was singling out Tigers on purpose (if you defend more you'll be pinged more).

As already proved, that wasn't me!
Also to note, tigers were pinged for pens on attack more than quins were.

Glad you & yours had a great day out. That is easily the best atmosphere of the year so far; you could tell when you got in that it was going to be electric.
Good on DC for noticing, and sorting out your second daughter. To me that speaks volumes to his character.
