Example of a well managed career?
Taking into consideration success, fame, wealth, matchmaking, transcending the sport....

Floyd perhaps? Not the most fan friendly style, bit of a tool, undefeated and the highest earner the sport has ever seen. That'll take some beating.

Lennox Lewis.
Maloney did a decent job of filling both their bank accounts.

Ricky and Lennox are both good shouts but more so in Lewis's case as he is set in retirement done wellnd for himself. Ricky's problems after boxing are well known.
He did not transcend the sport but Holmes career was about as good as it gets.

Leonard, superbly managed by Dundee and Mike Trainer. Can't think a better handled career.

David Haye has to be up there, very few fights and yet and yet cleaned up one division and got a title in another.

The Kiltschkos. Beating up everyone in a poor era and making millions for each fight, filling 60 thousands stadiums while their at it. Boxing out of Germany was a very good move for them.

Leonard has to be the standout. Made almost as much for his pro debut than Hagler did when defending world titles.
Amir Khan (at least up until recently) fed stiff after stiff, wobbled and dropped by Gomez and Limond, wiped out by Prescott, steered towards a World title shot on the back of beating the aged Barrera, then avoided every other LW and proclaims he "had" to move up to LWW as he couldn't secure a fight at the lower weights.

I think you have to balance ability, money made, matchmaking.
For me, hatton is peerless in this respect. Your tesco local manager could have made money out of Leonard.

... In hatton's case, that's exactly what they did Dave. Ahead of their time!

Rocky Marciano was also well managed. He made money, transcended the sport and his management never picked the wrong opponent as he never lost. Leoanrd, Lewis, Holmes all lost.
Calzaghe made it without losing a fight but he wasn't an undisputed champ like Marciano was.
