Wales backline for 2014 six nations
Just a thought....
Any Henson bashers... I don't care. He will still be the most talented player even in 2014.
15. Leigh Halfpenny
14. Alex Cuthbert
13. George North
12. Gavin Henson
11. Hanno Dirksen
10. James Hook
9. Lloyd Williams
That would be sick. Gone for Hook over Biggar because he plays well with Gav.

Just one, minor, query? With no Phillips, Roberts or JD2, who's going to do the tackling?
Poor old Halfpenny will need a thicker headguard.

Henson won't make the 2015 WC, so he would have to be playing excellently and with no other 12 options to get selected.
Dirksen is behind North and Liam Williams (although his defence should put him ahead of Walker, but Walker has been in the squad so is ahead)
Lloyd Williams will need more than 1 decent 80 minutes a year if he wants to start for Wales.

Well it certainly wouldn't be Cuthbert he hasn't got a clue defensively.

Dirksen is a freak. He's qualified next year. That boy must play. His awareness, aggression and strength are excellent.

I understand what you are saying and I know you always give some thought provoking contribution. But surely you would have expected thw Welsh 23 to more or less pick themselves (with the exception of the in/out of AWJ, Matthew Rees, Warburton, Shingler).
How can you really debate the match until you know your opponents 15 or 23, the reality now is the ideal time to discuss your countrys chances and ambitions.
Have the Italians picked a 23 that is attack minded or forward driven tight defence?,
Will they look to frustrate and strangle the life out of the Welsh forwards, or will they attack like they did against France?
Will the olympic stadium provide any advantage to the Azurri?,
Will AWJ be match fit and/or should Shingler be there instead of him?.
etc etc

Re: Wales backline for 2014 six nations
fly,
First off I think we shouldn't worry about Italy and concnetrate on our own game plan.
I still think we should have gone with James over Jenkins and that may bite us in the **** a bit.
AWJ has had a bit of gametime now in the last two weeks and I am glad that hes on the bench with Warburton and Coombs, Jones/Tipuric deserve another start.
All in all I hope and think we can win today and need to or the France game will mean nothing.
