First class cricket is the only form of the game that interests me plain and simple, limited overs cricket wouldn't come into my thinking at all.

Well thats your opinion. So that statement is fine!
However its very impratical as a way to get other nations into the game.. Or to play all the time
Its a much easier step to move up from 7's to 15 man teams in rugby and 5 to 11 in football..
professional cricket is truely all about all 3 formats these days.. rugby and football is all about one form..
I am with you in the fact that I pride test cricket(or first class) over limited over stuff!
But I am not discounting the other forms that all of the crickets play!
And sadly the more global cricket is the limited over stuff. But that is due to test limitations

one thing that does annoy me a little bit in these debates is people who have no idea what they're talking about pretending to be experts

I have a few problems voting for federer but the main one being that at no stage in his career has he been thought of as the number one clay court player in the world.
In truth the year he won the french open nadal was injured and went out early. Now there is no certainty that nadal would have beaten him but he would have been the favourite. If you were to take either of them from any stage of their respective careers and pitched them against one another on clay nadal would always be the bookies favourite. Mainly for this reason although possible the greatest tennis player of the time he can not for me be the greatest sports person as he has never been the greatest clay court player

Do they stop for cucumber sandwiches in T20?

I actually don't mind T20 as you have to go for it and guys just can't bat like Chris Tavare. Test Cricket is intolerably dreary.

I like both.
Test Cricket can be slow, but even when a game is meandering along, I enjoy watching how a bowler is trying to get a batsmen out etc.
Each to their own.
