Re: Boxing's Greatest Spoilers
Sorry Haz you missed Boxing's no 1 stinker/spoiler...
Ossie Ocasio................
Basically a stinker of a cruiser who went the distance with Qawi, Mercer, Coetzer, Biggs, Seldon, Lewis, Carl williams......
and eleven without coming close to winning a round against Holy..
Never in a good fight....
Good thread..

Ernie Terrell. Dreadful fighter to watch. Effective as well in fairness, but still dreadful on the eye.
Hopkins as well in recent years. Doesn't stop him from being a great fighter but not one you'd want to pay much money to watch.

Re: Boxing's Greatest Spoilers
For an all-time great, Monzon wasn't averse to a bit of the old jab, jab grab technique (topped every now and then with a right cross) used by the Klitschkos when he was faced with a volume puncher. Not quite in the same bracket as some of the names above but some of his fights were pretty ungainly.

Re: Boxing's Greatest Spoilers
Hearns become one for about two minutes against Kinchen - held on to him as if he was his missus after he got decked. A disqualification would have been harsh, but I have seen them given for less, too.
Probably the only time Hearns was booed in his whole career.

Hearns had to hang for dear life in pretty much every fight he had at 160 or 168 (with exception to those he got knocked clean out in) , but still that didn't stop plenty on here picking him to beat McClellan in one of those fanatasy match ups.

Where were you in my hour of need? I made this same comparison twice last year and Ghosty didn't like it one bit.
....wait for the backlash.
