A thing of beauty...
No its not a thread about the TNA knockouts but more to do with something I mentioned on the podcast the other night during the TNA section.
Its to do with wrestling moves and not neccesarily finishers. What move do you see, week in, week out that you think just looks great.
I am not talking about spectacular but more to do with the way its executed.
I will give you an example. HBKs Sweet Chin Music always looked great, however, James Storms Last Call (the same move) looks good only half the time as he usually has his opponent too close. The same with the GTS, RKO - the only look good some of the time.
So what move do you marvel at each time you see it.
My nomination is a strange one as its a transitional move but its Magnus' elbow from the top rope. For such a big guy, he glides through the air and makes the move just look devastating. Any one else agree?

Re: A thing of beauty...
Randy Orton's DDT, that's a serious badass move, I want to see him do it to people onto steel chairs, that's what the fans expect of him and his character

Re: A thing of beauty...
Another I would like to nominate is Austin Aries Brain Buster finisher. The reason it looks so goo is that he lifts and drops the opponent so quickly that it really looks painful.
Re: A thing of beauty...
I would have to nominate Sean O'Haire and his Swanton Bomb, for a big guy the execution was unbelievable.
I also think if done a bit more unexpectedly the brogue kick could be up there, looks great when it comes out of nowhere.

A second nomination for Kurt Angles moonsault!
And a second nomination for Randy Ortons DDT!
Also I actually really like Del Rio's arm bar and how he gets people into it.

Re: A thing of beauty...
Kofi's Trouble in Paradise is my favourite move because of how graceful yet vicious it looks.
Like a swan
Can break your arm in it's beak.
Is that a swan? Or a Pelican?
Anyway, Kofi's Trouble in Paradise

Re: A thing of beauty...
your thnking of a swans wing ED
ortons ddt should end a match. a ddt is good anyway, but looks even better when suspended on a rope and with the sudden impact that orton hits with it.
the spear can look devestating. goldberg was always best imo. he looked like he could decapitate people with it..
im still baffled as to how jericho took him out.. twice!

Re: A thing of beauty...
I must give a shout out to the indy scene and that of Roderick Strong.
Even though he does use it as a finisher from time to time, his gutbuster along with any version of a backbreaker and his knife edged chops really are a thing of beauty to see. He's so smooth and fluent in the ring he really does make it seem effortless at times with rarely making a mistake.
Ziggler's reverse body slam although already mentioned deserves a mention, Austin Aries heat seeking missile. It's so intense and quick it generally looks like it hurts both of them the majority of the time.

Re: A thing of beauty...
Shawn Michaels' top rope elbow drop was always on the money, it looked great every single time he did it.
Justin Gabriel's 450 splash is a thing of beauty, he nails it every time and makes it look easy.
Same goes for Evan Bourne's Air Bourne, he looks so fluid doing it compared to others like Billy Kidman who at times would hit really awkward looking SSP's.

Re: A thing of beauty...
Jeff hardy's move where he would propel himself off the second rope and then drive his legs into the man slumped on the floor of the turnbuckle. Think that makes sense.
Brock Lesnar's f5. Looked elegant yet he's twister a guy in mid air and slamming then into the mat face first.

My nomination is for Uhaa Nation's Uhaa Combination finisher.
For those that don't know it, it's basically a Gorilla Press dropped into a Standing Moonsault followed by a Standing Shooting Star Press.
Yes you read that right.

Re: A thing of beauty...
Another for Evan Bourne's Air Bourne, its so graceful I could see him never coming back down and it almost looks to smooth to cause any damage.
Rhyno's gore was always amazing. Like a speeding bullet.
I always used to like Rikishi's superkick too.

Re: A thing of beauty...
The Cactus Clothesline always got a pop from me. Foley was deceptively quick in his earlier days.
I always like the Frankensteiner too. Scott Steiner was a pretty big chap when he first started doing it, that was impressive enough. Then he did it after he roided up. That looked insane.
Another one is the Lionsault. Jericho hits it perfectly 99 times out of 100, and when he does, it looks amazing. Same story with his springboard from the inside to the outside dropkick. Not seen that for a while though.
Oh, and the Bronco Buster. Can't beat a man forcing another man to give him a good noshing. Wait, yeah you can. Stinkface.

I'd say Brock Lesnar's is the absolute opposite of elegant, I've always thought that's kind of the point, it's just brutal.

I do love Daniel Bryan's missile dropkick in the corner. When someone takes those two feet to the face I always point it out to friends who say wrestling doesnt hurt

Tommy Dreamers Tree of Woe to dropkick always looked bloody savage, especially with a weapon involved.
Whenever Sabu actually nailed a triple jump moonsault they looked the nuts.

Sometimes Big Shows KO Punch looks quality, the one on Jericho a couple of weeks ago was good, and the one he hit Otunga with:
