6 Nations 2013 Player of the Tournament
6 Nations 2013 Player of the Tournament
As the rules state that the player of the tournament has to have a man of the match award, choose one from the above or add a player in a reply you think deserves it regardless.

My player of the tournament would be Pick-a-wart. As he is sadly not eligible, well Halfpenny I guess - but i woudl have liked to see more of him running the ball.

Sadly Ryan Jones is not eligible either, I think he has been outstanding this tournament.
Dark horses would have been Ian Evans and Andrew Coombes for Wales as well, both solid. But not players of the tournament.

cant believe pick-a-mole didnt pick up a motm award. My vote goes to parisse by default. a savage tournament for him and one of the best players in the world.

Adam Jones. Without him I doubt Wales would have got the necessary front foot ball to play their natural game.
He should be wrapped in cotton wool for the lions tour.
When I come to think of it I can't recall a better tighthead in the home nations over the last 30 years. Leonard perhaps but he was a mix of both and really a loosehead.

Re: 6 Nations 2013 Player of the Tournament
here's the official list (apparently) of the 15 players nominated :
Mike Phillips (GAL), Leigh Halfpenny (GAL), Dan Biggar (GAL), Adam Jones (GAL), Owen Farrell (ANG), Chris Robshaw (aNG), Stuart Hogg (ECO), Sergio Parisse (ITA), Andrea Masi (ITA), Alessandro Zanni (ITA), Conor Murray (IRL), Brian O'Driscoll (IRL), Nicolas Mas (FRA), Louis Picamoles (FRA), Mathieu Bastareaud (FRA).
apparently Bastareaud has been nominated for having completed 100% of his passes succesfully
sets the standart very high

If that is the official last then Adam Jones should pip Halfpenny to get it! Such an unsung hero and kind of harsh on Halfpenny. But ah well.

at least AJ and 1/2p made the list for some good reasons : Farrel made it thanks to being allegedly the "most talked player in social networks"...now WTF!? Luckily Michalak had to close its twitter aacount after getting so much hassle otherwise he would be nominated!

Yep, and no idea how Phillips and Biggar are there ahead of Ryan Jones who has been outstanding.

I'd be astonished if 1/2p doesn't get it...
He was outstanding and all the writers/critics/pundits thought so too.

Mike PhilLips (Wales) Only player consistently able to catch his own pass (and that's nothing to do with his pace)

Re: 6 Nations 2013 Player of the Tournament
Has to be be Parisse for me, when he played he was the single biggest difference in his side, both in performance, character and captaincy. If he wasn't in the side they quite simply wouldn't have won against France or Ireland and wouldn't have run England so close.
