Which Shield Member Do You Believe In More?
Favourite Member Of The Shield
Suprisingly this hasnt been done yet. Obviously 99% of WWE fans on this board like The Shield. I hear plenty of people raving about Dean Ambrose saying he is fantastic on the mic etc. Then there are others who prefer Roman Reigns as he is an absolute beast and seems most likely for a main event career. Then there are those who have an affection for Seth Rollins as he has a lot of potential and could even go well as a face.
So for the first time in 606v2 history, we are taking it to the poll. Here is you chance to back up your favourite. Vote for which one you like best, and feel free to add comments as to why.
So - Reigns, Ambrose or Rollins? Over to you guys...
(P.S. I am not voting as I still cannot decide!)

Re: Favourite Member Of The Shield
Has Hero rigged this to be like one of the old WCW polls in that a vote for Roman Reigns or Seth Rollins automatically adds 5 to the tally of Dean Ambrose?
I'm not voting yet either because I can't split them. Ambrose and Rollins are fantastic and I've been pleasantly surprised by Roman Reigns since they made their debut.

Ooh, I really like them all, I think they are fantastic. However, I would say my order is:
1) Dean Ambrose
2) Roman Reigns
3) Seth Rollins
I find Ambrose quite fascinating......I believe in the Shield!

I can't wait for Hero's contributions to this thread.
I've gone for Ambrose, his mic work has been consistently excellent and he looks solid in the ring. Reigns has looked most impressive in the ring but his shouting Annoys me!

All 3 are impressive but i went with Ambrose who always captures my attention first when they appear. I actually think Rollins has been the best in ring since their debut.

Re: Favourite Member Of The Shield
In truth though all three guys have impressed me, Ambrose is the obvious call being I've blown his trumpet for a long time (cue innuendo post from Chris) but Reigns has looked immense in the beast role and he looks a good Batista replacement for me.
Rollins of the three is probably the one that needs the most work to get him noticed with the WWE but he's also the one that could potentially become the most over as a face being he has that look emo teenagers crave over. You can just see him on painted black walls across bedrooms in the States whilst they listen to MCR etc.
The big point for the group will be post Mania when they will obviosuly have to start becoming involved in matches that aren't triple threat. That only has so much length in it and the third at Mania is already stretching that.
One question I asked on the podcast last night I'd also like to throw out to people...
Could The Shield as a collective group turn face?

It would be tough without a new heel faction to go up against, I don't think them turning face to take on 3MB would work too well
It could be done but as babyfaces, WWE would have to focus more on what they can do as individuals, which goes against what the Shield in its current guise is all about. So unless a heel faction is built for them to oppose, you'd most likely have turn them all face and have them strike out on their own, but with the inference that they were still a collective looking out for each other.

Re: Favourite Member Of The Shield
They could, as the injustices they look to eradicate could turn out to be genuine injustices (i.e. saving faces from a heel beatdown despite the humongous sense of irony in that). You would need a McMahon type corporation figure trying to control everything and swing everything in the favour of his chosen superstars (John Laurinaitis would be perfect for this), and eveytime he tries it The Shield could scupper his plans in the name of justice. You then haev the hated authority of the WWE v The Shield of justice.
But lets be honest, they are far beter as heels!! After the face turn it would only be a few months before they step in the ring with Brodus Clay and Tensai to do some dancing and jiving with all the Lil Jimmies!!!

Re: Favourite Member Of The Shield
You have no idea how true this is, if you search WWE in the tags on Tumblr (which is mainly populated with emo teenagers) 90% of the time it's pictures of Dean/Seth, Ziggler and AJ, CM Punk and Randy Orton...also the one or two girls I know who actually like wrestling love Rollins and it's mainly down to the fact that he has the looks.Hero wrote:Rollins of the three is probably the one that needs the most work to get him noticed with the WWE but he's also the one that could potentially become the most over as a face being he has that look emo teenagers crave over. I'm going to stick with what I've always said, Ambrose and Rollins should become tag champion and Reigns should start going for a title like USA or Intercontinental.Hero wrote:The big point for the group will be post Mania when they will obviosuly have to start becoming involved in matches that aren't triple threat. I wouldn't make them face exactly but if Cena does go heel at Mania then they could be the involved with the aftermath, taking him out and telling the crowd that this is the "Cena problem" that they've always been against. They knew how fake he was or something like that and no-one but them and CM Punk saw it. (this might just be what I want so that CM Punk and Shield form a team so I can fanboy like crazy haha)Hero wrote:Could The Shield as a collective group turn face?

Ambrose next top heel
Rolling next top face(edge/hardy-esque)
Reigns I think has massive potential but can't promo to save his life

Re: Favourite Member Of The Shield
I think Ambrose and Rollins have the potential to be big face or heel (obviously Ambrose would work better as a heel)
Reigns though I just can't see him as a face, while I can see him being massively over but I just can't see him being a convincing good guy (not a typical one anyway)...the way he can destroy people like when he speared Sheamus through the wall just suits him being a destructive heel, as someone said before a bit like Batista.

You're thinking of Roman Reigns viper, Rollins is the one with the part brown, part blonde hair.

I think Ambrose has the most potential, then Rollins.
Reigns is good, but the other 2, especially Ambrose are just that bit better.
I agree with Hitman, Ambrose and Rollins have the potential to be a top heel and face respectively.

Re: Favourite Member Of The Shield
Cant remember where I said it before but I feel Ambrose is the one who WWE could most easily ruin. Whereas Rollins has that face emo-indie look that gets over and the acrobatic style and Reigns is a monster who could play the barbaric heel or the quiet destructive tweener, I feel Ambrose needs smarter feuds with legitimate opponents. And they need to be the right kind of feuds where he can manipulate words and promos rather than just being chucked into a throwaway feud where he has no TV time and has to play the coward heel.
I honestly see Reigns as the most main event of them. I could see him taking on Lesnar, taking on Triple H etc etc. Sometimes you dont need too many words from these types.

I think all three will be there or thereabouts being the top echelon of WWE post Mania 30 when hopefully that will be used as the final hurrah of the Part timers.

Re: Favourite Member Of The Shield
CM Punk proved that it takes one promo to resonate with the fans and get massively over and ambrose has that potential given the right amount of leeway. When the time is right wwe need to give ambrose the ball and say 'show us what you can do' I firmly believe that given that opportunity to create a stand out moment coupled with his ability to sell emotion could propel him a la CM Punk. I do think though that like punk he needs and will have to put in a few years hard craft before he gets that opportunity.

Re: Favourite Member Of The Shield
Roman Reigns is the real deal for me, I love the guy's intensity and just how he conducts himself. He is a brutal powerhouse and I actually like the way he shouts his promos, makes it more believable for me that he is just a nutjob. Could easily buy into him as a main eventer within the next 12-18 months.
That said, I like Ambrose and Rollins as well. The Shield is probably the best thing that WWE have done in years and long may it continue. I am looking forward to how the WWE step it up in post-Mania.

Re: Favourite Member Of The Shield
Gone for Reigns because I only have their time in the WWE as the Shield to go by and in that time Reigns has been portrayed as the best.
The spear, the roar, the powerbomb etc all emphasise his strengths. On the other hand they have had limited 'spots' and limited mic time, which hasn't allowed the others to shine.
At the moment I would say that it is really unknown how far Reigns could go - I can see the other two being solid midcarders, not sure if they could get higher in the WWE though.
